"Yeah...sounds good. But only if you something nice."
The others joined us soon afterwards along with the professor. I had already given up trying to pay attention midway through the lecture as I snoozed into my slumber fest. Adrian had also joined my little slumber party soon and we dozed through class together. He was really worn out from juggling between me, academics and his football trials. Football season was about to end in a month and they were under a lot of pressure from the coach.
After class, Andy and Mia asked if I was in for hanging out with them. I told them I was too tired to even flex my eyelids and that I was just going to ravish my bed once I reached home.
Giving s brief hug to everyone, I stroll back home on a chilly late-October evening. As soon as I flipped the keys, I threw them on the kitchen platform and ran to my bed. Without wasting a second, I pounded under my comforter and slept away.
By the time I woke up, it was already 8. I washed my face to remove all signs of fatigue and got ready to reach at Adrian's on time. I dressed casually in a jumper over a pair of tight-fitting jeans and slipped on my coat. As I was heading out, I ran into Mia.
"Hey why are you heading out in such a hurry?"
"I am having dinner at Adrian's today. Bye babe." I ran past her and quickly sprinted my way downstairs.
I rang his doorbell and waited for someone to let me in. Cole received me at the door and let me in.
"Hey Cole.", I walked past him after closing the door behind me.
"Hi Ginna. Adrian's in the kitchen." He was wearing his nerdy glasses which suggested that he was not in a mood to spark any conversation.
"Will you be having dinner with us, Cole?"
"No...no. I wouldn't be third wheeling. I am working on my project. See you later Ginna."
"Bye Cole, study well."
I entered the kitchen to find Adrian setting up the table.
"I was just going to call you. You are late.", he frowned.
"I overslept a little. Sorry"
"It's okay. Now quickly taste this and tell me how it is.", he passed me the ladle.
"Yummmmmm....I have never had such delectable sauce in my life. What is it?", I moaned.
"I don't really have a name for it. I just experimented stuff and it turned out just fine.", he said with pride lacing his voice.
"I think it's the basil on the top that's working in your favor."
"Maybe... but I bet you've never tasted a sauce better than this one."
"Quick question; Does me being a vegetarian bother you?" I don't know why I had to ask that.
"Sometimes it does. It's a challenge to cook tasty vegetarian food. I mean I don't understand how can someone resist meat. Have you tried my bagels? I am sure you will forget your vegetarianism."
That was a quick response!
"Don't say that. Lately I have been considering veganism top. Only if I wasn't addicted to ice-cream. You know being a vegetarian is more than just not eating meat. At least for me; it's about standing up against cruelty. I mean how can you sleep at night dealing with the fact that you just killed a walking, talking and feeling creature for the purpose of flushing it out in the pot the next day."
"It sounds worse when you put it like that."
"It wasn't to offend you. I was just telling you how I feel about food with a face."
