Annabeth Chase arrived at the bottom of the stairs, greeted by a scene that was normally found in comedy skits; Nico Di Angelo grinning from the subway window at Will Solace, who is being held back by Hazel Levesque from running into the closing subway doors. Percy stood a few meters away, looking done with the groups shenanigans and Leo Valdez stood next to him, waving back at Nico while stifling a laugh from coming out. The group watched as the subway move, taking Nico away with it into the dark tunnel.
"Did I just miss something?" Frank Zhang arrived beside Annabeth with a confused look.
"You want the good news, or the bad news?" Annabeth asked.
"Uh, good?"
"Good news is, there's no monsters attacking us so far and bad news is, Nico got carried away by the subway.

Let's go back to a few minutes before the incident. Piper McLean and Jason Grace were separated from the group and ended up somehow five stops behind them. They agreed through a phone call to meet up at the closest mall to meet up and get a meal, and actually do things in a not demigod-ish fashion, aka not trying to kill a random snake creature in the bathroom. (Leo is here to inform the readers that we should try that in Australia. I told him to fix the fourth wall.)
The rest of the group decided to go on the subway since they were near a subway station. Nico, being short and nimble, was faster than the rest of the group and ran inside the subway before the doors started to close. Will, chasing his boyfriend, was about to attempt to slide through the doors when Hazel stopped him by grabbing his shoulder.
Now we arrive to where we left off.
"Now what?" Hazel asked the group.
"Does he have a phone?"
"Seaweed brain, even if he had one, there's no signal underground."
"What if we went on the next subway that will arrive, and hope he is waiting for us on the next stop?" Frank chimed in.
"That's a good idea." Annabeth nodded.
The group waited for the next subway to arrive a hauled a depressed Solace along with them.

Nico watched as the next subway arrived and peered through the windows. There, he spotted a familiar pair of blue eyes searching for something, perhaps someone. When the subway doors opened, he walked in and sat next to Will.
"Hey significant annoyance, did you lose them?"
"I swear, Death Boy, you'll be the end of me."
It turned out, not only did they "lose" Piper and Jason in the crowd, the group also "lost" Nico and Will at the subway. Why?
"If this plan fails, we're blaming Jason."
The other night, Jason held a meeting with everyone except for Annabeth and Percy. Because of the whole Hera incident, they wanted the couple to spend a little more time together. Without distractions such as a man on fire, a flying mom, of course.

This story, of course, is half inspired by true events. We lost a certain short friend of mine in the subway during a journey to a mall. (Don't worry we found them) Last night I had a dream of it happening to the Percy Jackson book characters and here it is. I see so many plot-holes and I just remembered phones are a no no in the demigod world. Whoops.
