Chapter 31

Full of Twists

I ran as fast as I can throughout the hallway that is surrounded with cells with vampires in them. Sa bawat pagtakbo ko ay maririnig ko ang bawat pagkalas ng ibang kulungan. I looked from my behind and I saw a lot of vampre were trying to catch up with me. Ang iba naman ay may sariling mundo at pinapakawalan ang iba pang bampira.  They're probably releasing their friends.

Fuck. Why does this hallway feel like it's so long? I've been running for a while now, and because I'm using my vampire speed, it shouldn't take that long for me to reach the exit. Bakit parang ang tagal ko nang tumatakbo?

The vampires behind me looked like they're half vampire and half zombie. Because of their uncontrollable desire for blood, that I'm still holding on to, kahit nanghihina na sila ay patuloy sila sa paghabol sa akin. Why can't they just run out of energy? Hindi pa ba sila nanghihina sa sobrang pagkagutom sa dugo? Hindi ba't dapat ay nag-cocollapse na ang kanilang mga katawan sa sobrang pagod?

Still running, it really felt like the hallway has been going on for so long. I didn't mind it and ran even faster. Because of that, I got a little advantage at medyo malayo-layo na mula sa mga bampirang nasa likuran ko.

I let out a relieved sigh as I continued running. Nang humarap ako sa unahan ay agad napakunot ang aking noo nanh mapansin ang aking kapaligiran. This somewhat feels... familiar. Have I ever been in this place before?

Binalewala ko ito sa at nagpatuloy sa pagtakbo. Ilang minuto pa ulit akong tuloy-tuloy at walang tigil na tumatakbo nang mapansin 'kong muli akong nabalik sa dati 'kong kinapuntahan. Mas lalong kumunot ang aking noo at tinignan nang mabuti ang buong paligid.

Wait, w-why am I here, again? Fuck. All of the cell around me are now open. Ang ibang bampirang nasa loob ay nakalupasay na sa sahig. Ang iba naman ay nanghihina na nang sobra.

I ran past this part of the hallway, right? Shit. Am I just repeating the process? Kaya ba kahit sobrang tagal ko nang tumatakbo ay hindi pa rin ako makarating sa dulo?

My running started to slow down as I got confused on what was happening. D-Did they do something in this cell? They probably casted a spell so I can't get out of here. They really expected me to save Drake today. I thought that it was easy to get past the guards, pero hindi pala iyon ang kanilang binabalak. They had different plans from ours.

Natigil ako sa pag-iisip nang makita 'kong palapit na ang mga bampirang humahabol sa akin kanina. So they also kept on running on the same hallway, over and over again. Because of panic, I didn't have enough time to think about what my plan would be. I started running fast again.

So now, I know that we are just running in the same hallway over and over again. They probably put a portal or something at the end that looked like it was still the same hallway. It's like they made multiple hallways and connected it with each other. Pero, ang ginawa nila ay sa dulo ng orihinal na hallway, ay may invisible portal doon na magteteleport sa amin pabalik sa dulo.

I need to think of a plan that will distract the vampires who are behind me. Habang patuloy na tumatakbo ay nag-isip ako ng paraan upang ma-distract ang mga bampirang ito. Hindi puwedeng buong araw na lamang akong tumakbo rito at hintayin silang mapagod. I can get caught by others by the time I finished on draining them out off energy.

There's only one way to distract them. And, that's to give them the blood bags I have on hand. I can throw is behind me once we cross the portal.

I ran one more time and looked carefully where the portal starts. Once I knew where it started, I just need to get pass it and wait for them to pass through the portal too, to the other side of the hallway.
