Serena and Ash are walking back towards Professor Oak's lab.
Eventually, they arrive at the lab.
Serena and Ash enter the lab.
"Hi, Professor Oak! Hi, Delia!" said Serena, entering the lab.
"Hi Serena!" said Professor Oak.
Delia just smiles.
"Hi Mom! Hi Professor Oak!" said Ash, entering the lab.
"Hi Ash!" said Delia and Professor Oak.
"What are you doing?" asked Ash.
"We're playing with Pichu!" said Delia.
"Really? I want to play with it too!" said Ash, excited.
"'Playing' wouldn't be the right word..." said Professor Oak, laughing nervously.
Ash looks let down.
"We're running some health checks on it..." said Professor Oak.
"That's good! How is it?" asked Serena.
"It is perfectly healthy! You really have been taking a very good care of it!" said Professor Oak, smiling.
"Thanks!" said Serena, smiling.
"Pichu!" said Pichu, smiling happily and running towards Serena.
Serena smiles.
Serena grabs Pichu on her arms.
"Did Professor Oak and Delia take good care of you?" asked Serena.
"Pichu Pi!" said Pichu, smiling happily.
Serena smiles back, happily.
"So, Pichu... This is going to be your new home from now on... Okay?" asked Serena.
"Pi?" said Pichu, puzzled.
"Professor Oak wants to know more about you... Are you going to be fine?" asked Serena.
"Pichu..." said Pichu, worried.
"It's going to be for a little while... We'll be able to be together in the future!" said Serena, smiling.
"Pichu!" said Pichu, smiling.
Serena and Pichu hug each other.
Ash is looking to Serena and Pichu with glittering eyes.
"Aww! So cute!" said Delia.
Professor Oak is smiling happily.
Serena and Pichu let go of the hug.
"I'll come every now and then... I promise..." said Serena, smiling with tearful eyes.
"Pichu..." said Pichu, smiling with tearful eyes.
Serena and Pichu are looking to each other.
"Serena, I think you should catch Pichu..." said Professor Oak.
"Catch Pichu?" asked Serena, puzzled.
"Yes... So that way it's going to be easier for you to come here and get Pichu after my research is done..." said Professor Oak.
"Oh... Okay then!" said Serena, smiling.
Serena turned to Pichu.
"Can I catch you?" asked Serena.
"Pichu Pi!" said Pichu, excited.
"Okay!" said Serena, smiling happily.
Serena gets a pokéball out of her pocket.
