you sighed to yourself as you got into the car and watched the moving van pull away from your childhood home. you thought of all the friends you were leaving and going to miss. it's not like you were just moving states, this was a whole new continent. there was little to no chance of ever seeing these people again. you felt your eyes well up with tears and tried to blink them away as you felt your childhood be ripped away from you all at once.

"hey y/n, you good?" your thoughts were quickly interrupted by your little brother b/n. you wiped the tears away and nodded. he raised his eyebrow, seemingly questioning you, but you just touched his shoulder and smiled, assuring him everything was okay. the car started moving and you rested your head against your seat, put your airpods in, and closed your eyes.

this was going to be a long ride to the airport...

----------

you woke up abruptly to your mom tapping you lightly on the shoulder.

"we're at the airport." she said with a soft smile. you groaned and got out of the car. you and your family quickly made your way through the airport and boarded the plane along with all your other belongings going through shipping. you sat in your seat, feeling the overwhelming sadness come over you again. your dad noticed this and tried to cheer you up.

"hey, take a look at this house they're paying us to move into!" he excitedly showed you a picture of a gorgeous 2 story house. "it has 4 bedrooms, one for each of us! plus the basement is huge!" you gave a soft smile. he was obviously excited and you didn't want to let him down. he smiled back and began talking to your sister who sat calmly on the other side of him. your whole family was so excited. why couldn't you just feel the same?

----------

multiple flights later you finally set foot in london. you looked around at the giant, unfamiliar airport, and quickly realized how different your life would be. you rolled your eyes, annoyed at the thought of having to adjust your sleep schedule to the completely different time zone. you adjusted your phone's clock to the new time zone. "9:16 PM" it read, but your body still assumed it was just past 4.

you got into the rental car your dad's work had given your family until your furniture and vehicles arrived. one hour long drive later and you were standing in front of your brand new house. you and your family walked up to the quiet house, unlocked the door and set foot into a brand new chapter of your life. you chose the upstairs room closest to the neighbor's house, and as you look through the window you watched a light click off, and a tall figure lay down and pull out a phone.

"who lives there?" you thought.
