5. Blast from the past-I

She was raging in a fire so furious that she felt like she could burn Gangaputra in it too.
"I have already accepted King Shalva as my husband from my heart.
Not might nor strength, but I want to be married on the basis of Love.

How dare you Gangaputra Bheeshma...  to come here and make my Swayamvar, a contest???"

Everyone present there was shocked. Bheeshma too was stunned.

He couldn't contain his shock and asked Kashi king that if he had known that his daughter has already chosen her Husband then why didn't he married her like that and put the farce of Swayamvar.

Amba boldly accepted that she already chosen King Shalva as her husband.

Bheeshma and Amba stared challengingly at each other. A stare so intense and questioning. The moment breaks.

Bheeshma questioned Kashi king that why he invited these guests then and insulted them. He said to know the consequences of the sacred Swayamvar with pretentious mind.

Kashi king didn't know about it and had to apologized to Mahamahim Bheeshma. Other guests said that no one would marry his daughter as Bheeshma had already won them.
Kashi king accepted it.

But Gangaputra Bheeshma knew it would be unrighteous to force a woman against her will and fill her life with sorrow and misery so he asked if his other daughters had already chosen or not. They haven't.

Gangaputra declared that Princess Amba is free from her Swayamvar obligations and freed with respect. She may marry king Shalva

And that the two other princess would come with him to become the queens of Hastinapur for King Vichitravirya.

Amba fury didn't calm. She saw Gangaputra with utmost hatred and loathing.

When at Hastinapur palace the ceremony of Paanigrahan was going to happen and bride was asked to come, a distant voice of Amba was heard.

Amba came furiously and accused Mahamahim Bheeshma for crushing and crumbling her hopes and dreams.

Bheeshma composed himself and said calmly. "But Devi , I had already allowed you to marry with king Shalva".

Furiously, Amba replied. "King Shalva was defeated in front of whole world by you Gangaputra. When I went to him he said that I am nothing but a won prize. An object. Not a girl. Not a woman. Not a human being. But an object".

"An object won by you Gangaputra.

King Shalva accused me that I was won by you Gangaputra. And I belong to no one but you".

Bheeshma was shocked. "My intentions were noble , Devi. I didn't mean to harm you. Any girl who come to Swayamvar comes without the prior decision of choosing her groom. whatever happened with you... I extremely regret it. But I'm of no fault. But if you think it was my fault then I'll personally accompany you to King Shalva".

Amba shouted. "No. I don't want charity. I need my rights. You have won me with your mighty strength in front of all. And if I'll marry someone,then it's you Gangaputra Bheeshma".
