I fought with a monster today,
It was strong and it was frightening
It left me shivering on my knees
My legs curled up under me.

It was large and it was terrifying,
It left me shaking in my shoes
My knees about to hit the floor.
I fought with a monster today,
It was huge and it was horrifying
I left it writhing in the dust
And walked away
My head held high, my scars enough.
