Amelia wakes up with sharp pains in her stomach, not being able to move, only wanting to lay there and deal with the problem before her mother came in and made matters worse. She didn't know what was wrong, and she has never had this kind of pain before. She felt like she had wet the bed, but she was in so much pain she wasn't bothered to look. Her mother bursts into her room, just what she didn't want. Her mother always made everything worse, or she always made everything about her. She didn't know how to fix the situation. The pain was getting worse, she felt hungry, and the feeling was like getting kicked in the stomach without it actually happening.
She felt like getting up and beating up her little brother because she had this crazy idea that her brother had jumped on her in her sleep and that's why she woke up in a lot of pain. Nothing seemed to be working, every time she would move over and try and get comfy a bit more, but the pain still hurt. She was aching in pain; it wasn't going away. Her mother touched her arm. She sat down on the bed and looked at her daughter just laying there. Her mother didn't know what was going on, either. Amelia has her blankets over her, and she looked very red and hot in the face. Her mother was so worried, her mother left and for a second Amelia thought that she had just left her there without helping her at all, but she was wrong. Her mother came back with a wet, cold face washer and placed it on her head.
"It's going to be okay," her mother says.
"The cramps are so bad mum," she says. "Please make it stop."
"Okay, let's get you up, maybe that will help."
Amelia sat up and felt a lot better. Her mother looked on the bed and saw what was wrong.
"Honey, do you remember how we talked about lady things when you were little."
"Kind of," she says. "Why does that even matter."
"Well, that's exactly what you got Am."
Amelia looked behind her and realized that she had just got her period for the first time. She put her face in her hands, and a tear rolled down her face.
"Just be glad you aren't pregnant," her mother says. " that shit hurts more, especially with you."
They both laughed. They were sitting on the bed having a good old time.
"Don't worry mum, I don't think I will ever get pregnant nor would I want to."
Her mother looked at her, some part of her seemed happy for what her daughter had just said, but the other half was upset because she won't have a grandchild.
