12.The Shocking Truths

Amelia walks through the sizeable automatic doors. Her whole body was trembling in fear. The last time she had walked into the room to see her little boy, there were problems. Amelia didn't know what to expect. The nurse in front guided them into a ward where they kept all the children. They passed Heather's office, and she didn't look too happy. Amelia thought she would have been pleased that they didn't lose another child on the same day. She wonders if she knew the child that had recently passed away. 

Amelia gets tapped on the leg; she spun around as she saw her daughter rubbing her eyes. She bent down and picked her up. Her smile made the world brighter, and Amelia didn't seem so down anymore. Minnie kept pulling at Amelia's earrings hanging down below her ear. Amelia was getting frustrated but didn't want to make a scene at the hospital. Oliver and April could see that she was getting frustrated. April reached out for Minnie, and she shook her head. Minnie is so stubborn as her mother. If she wants to do something, nothing in the world will stop her. 

Ske keeps pulling at her ears until she stops for a second and starts pulling at her hair. She began to pull that hard that you can see the skin on top of her head lifting alongside the hair. Amelia screamed. Everyone had turned their heads to see what the fuss was about, not knowing the whole story. The scream had scared Minnie, and she starts to squeal. Amelia tries to comfort her, but she turns her head at April and reaches her arms out. April had no choice but to take Minnie off of Amelia. Minnie stops crying the second she is in Aprils arms.

The nurse that they were following leads them into Dimitris room. His face lit up as soon as he saw Oliver and Amelia. They both wrapped their arms around him, being a little too close to one another. Their faces were directly in front of each other, close enough for their lips to touch. They stared into the eyes of each other for a moment. They smiled for a while but continued to have their attention on their son. They still had that connection; even though they were related to each other, they still had so much love for one another. 

The whole room was filled with smiles when Jared had walked in and told him he was being released from the hospital that very second. Amelia signs the paperwork for his release and hands the pen and clipboard back to Jared. Their hands touched, and she felt a spark. Amelia looks up at Jared and can tell that he feels it too. She turns around quickly to notice that everyone was staring at her. Amelia felt embarrassed seeing that her ex-best friend and ex-boyfriend were now witnessing her with another man while her son is in a hospital bed. Jared tapped her on the shoulder, and without hesitation, she turns her whole body to face him. "There's another part you forgot to do on the Release forms."

She swore that she had completed the entire form when she sees a sticky note placed on the clipboard. Jared smiles as she takes off the sticky note, turns around and walks in the opposite direction. She reads the message:

'We still need to talk, meet at our spot later on, okay?'

Jared turns his head around and smiles as Amelia is smiling back. She nods her head at him. Oliver knew that something was going on by the look on his face as he stares at her. His face was so despairing you could see the pain through his eyes. 

"Amelia, I thought to let you know that we are taking the children for the night so you can get some proper sleep." April picked up Dimitri from his bed.

Amelia rotates her body, breaking the moment between her and Jared. Her eyes have this flare in them. She thought that April and she had forgiven each other and were in a good place. She never thought that April would try and replace her as their mother. Her son just came out of surgery, and it was time to take him home, but all she wanted to do was take Amelia's kids to her place. April was given another chance to fix her friendship with Amelia but once again always thinking about herself. Amelia couldn't believe what she was seeing with her own eyes. 

"I don't think that's such a good idea. How bout the two of you come home with me and we have dinner together as a family. I just think it will be best if Dimitri was in his own bed after being in an uncomfortable environment."

April places Dimtri back on the bed. She looks up with a bit of disbelief. Her smile begins to fade as she steps over to Oliver on the other side of the bed. Oliver places one hand on April's arms spreading his fingers apart, slowly brushing his hand up and down her arm towards her shoulder. "Maybe, it's not a bad idea. We get a free meal out of this. Spend time with the children."

April didn't look too happy with any of them. Her face went pale as a ghost. Amelia notices straight away that something might be wrong. She is a nurse, after all. Amelia places a hand on her arm, and she immediately pushes her away. "I'm fine, I don't know why you always have to make a fuss about me for."

April runs straight to the bathroom in the room and hurls her guts out. The noise and the smell gave that away. "Are you sure you okay. You are at the hospital. We can get you checked. Honey?"

They walked around the corner and noticed there was no sound coming from the bathroom anymore. April blacked out on the ground. She didn't look well at all. "Help her up and get her to the emergency room right away. We need to get her checked immediately."

They all helped her get her on the bed and grasped her comfortable before moving and putting the railings up. She never treated anyone she knows before, so she calls over another doctor and nurse to help her along the way. They reached the motion censored doors as the nurse that was helping her taps Amelia on the shoulder and guided her out of doors. "I can help though. Give me a chance."

Minnie ran up to her mother, standing in the doorway, watching as they take April to the emergency rooms. They have no idea why she suddenly fainted out of nowhere. Oliver picked up Minnie from where she was sitting. She was wrapped around her mother legs. "Give you mother a break princess." Amelia and liver smiled at each other. "I've organised for Celia to pick them up so we can wait for April without having to run after these two." Amelia nods at him as she turns her head back to look at the doors. "Im worried about her. She was always stressed about the kids that she forgot to look after herself and may have affected the way she was feeling and lead to this." Amelia sighs and rotates her body to glance her eyes at Oliver. Oliver places his palm on the side of her neck. They stared into the eyes of each other.

"There's something I have meant to tell you for some time now. As long as I have met you, I have felt this connection between us, and I know you have felt it too. I saw just before in the hospital room when we were with our child. We came together as one as I have always wanted us to do. I've been trying to tell you how I feel, but I've noticed you have been dating someone else, and I get that. I get that we can't be together cause we are siblings, but I've never felt like this with anyone else but you. They say we can be together cause it will be incest, but we have beautiful children already, and if we can't be together for some stupid reason, how do we be in each other's lives and raise these kids together. PLease tell me you feel the same way."

Amelia stares at him with her mouth open. She is shocked she doesn't know what to say. "What about April. Shes in there getting observed and all you can think about is us right now." Oliver looks down and places his hands on her cheek. "Thats the problem. I don't love her enough to marry her. I cant marry her. I want to be with you."

Amelia grabs him and pulls him towards her. They come together in a meaningful kiss. Their lips locked together. They haven't been this close since the twins were born. They kept going. The kiss seems to go on forever until someone walks into the room. "What the help is going on here."

They look up, knowing they did something terrible. It was only Celia. "Finally, that took a long time to happen." They both backed away as they awkwardly smile at each other. "So are you going to break up with April now." They stared at each other in complete silence. No one made a noise. The door instantly buts open, and a nurse appears. "There's some good news. She's ready to see you now." 

They all hurried to the room April was located in. They open the door to see another nurse rubbing the gel on Aprils stomach. She grabs the ultrasound scan and places it against it swirling it around. Amelia knows exactly what's going on. She wipes a tear away from her left eye. Oliver looks at Amelia and then back at April. 

"You're pregnant."
