CHAPTER 24

The guests were starting to arrive and we were still preparing to surprise Imogen for when she gets here.
Some important people still haven't shown up though, Deon, Markus and my brother so I was really hoping they would get here before she does.

My Mom emptied a bag of potato chips into a decorative bowl."So when are you going to Paris?"

"Next weekend, I've already sorted it with Imogen's boss so she could have a couple of days off work."

My Mom smiled."Brilliant. You're lucky to have one another.
She's going to be thrilled,Layney."

"Well she deserves the best."I poured some guacamole into a bowl and scrunched up my face because of the smell."Ew, Does that smell off to you?"

My Mom moved her face closer and gave it a whiff."No, It smells okay. You always like guac."

She stood in thought for a moment emptying the rest of the chips into the bowl, then she looked at me with round eyes."Oh My God, Are you.."

Crap,She's copped on!"Please, Don't freak out Mom I don't want Gray to find out.
I haven't had a chance to tell him yet."

She cuddled into me bursting with excitement. For her the day had finally come but for me the day had come way too soon."My baby is going to have a baby of her own, I'm going to be a Grandma."

I giggled."Shh,You can't say anything.No one can know, not even Dad."

"Why?"She whispered.

"Because Gray doesn't know,I don't know how to even begin to tell him.
I only found out yesterday and I've been trying to figure it out ever since."

My Mom clapped her hands together in excitement."I can't believe you're having a baby.
Gray is a good guy, he's going to be over the moon when you tell him I just know it."

My Mom moved forward and hugged me for a second time, I'm sure the excitement on her had drawn some attention but I couldn't just not let her enjoy this moment.
She was happy that she's becoming a Grandma.

"What's going on?"Gray asked,as he stood at the kitchen island looking between my Mom and I.

My Mom wiped a tear from her cheek."We were just having a Mother Daughter moment.
I love my Girl so much."

She isn't making it half obvious that something is going on.
I smiled at her."I love you too, Mom."

"I should go see to your Father before he eats all those Potato chips."My Mom left the kitchen, most likely she's gone to tell my Dad everything. I know what she's like.

Gray walked around the island and placed his arms around me from behind as he kissed my cheek."Everything looks great, Babe."

"I still have a few things I need to do before she gets here but I feel like I did good."I looked around my apartment that was decorated and full of the people closest to her.
"I'm still waiting on a couple of people to arrive but we have some time."

"Speaking of, I'm going to run out and grab some more chips and dips before Imogen gets here.
People have been eating and we're starting to run out.

I sighed."Damn,I bought like 5 huge bags."

Gray pressed a kiss to my cheek."I won't be long I promise.
Text me if you need anything else."

"Sure, See you soon."

Gray walked through the crowd of people and left the apartment.
I noticed the look on my Dad's face as he chatted with my Mom on the couch. I chuckled and shook my head knowing she's already told him.
