It's been a couple of days of silence from Gray, he's stopped calling me.
Maybe he's gotten fed up trying since I haven't been answering.
Honestly if I saw him now, I don't think I'd even know what to say.

"That's the locks changed,Miss."The locksmith said, and handed me a set of keys.

"Thank you."

The locksmith left and I closed the door after him. With Gray not being here I was feeling on edge so I got the locks in my apartment changed, windows checked and new locks on every door in my apartment.
I was trying to be sensible so when this guy comes for me I'll be ready.

I walked into the kitchen and got started on cooking a lonely dinner for one. Imogen and Markus have been staying with me the last couple of nights to keep me company, this is my first night alone.

I was cutting up fresh tomatoes when a knock came to my door. I placed the knife down on the counter and walked across the room, whilst drying my hands on my fabric pin stripped apron.

Who could that be?

"Layne.."Gray's voice called,through the door.

Crap..He's here. I don't know if I'm ready to face him after our fight.
I don't even know what to say to him.

Gray knocked again."Layne,Please!! I know you're in there,Imogen told me that you were home.
Will you please open up so we can talk?"

I don't think he's going away unless I answer,I suppose there's no time like the present.
I opened the door, Gray was standing in his casual wear of jeans and a t-shirt that hugged his muscles.

"It's nice to finally see your face. I didn't think you were going to open up."

I shrugged my shoulders."Well I figured you would leave without seeing me,so I didn't have much of a choice."

"Can I come in?"

I opened the door wider without saying a word. Gray walked into my apartment and I closed the door after him.
There was still tension between us after the unresolved fight we had.

"It's a few days since I've seen you, How have you been?"

I shrugged my shoulders lightly."Okay, I guess. I've been with Imogen mostly, but you already know that."

"You didn't really leave me much of a choice,Layne. You wouldn't return any of my calls..I had to see you."

"I didn't know what to say."I walked to the kitchen counter and picked up the knife to continue cutting tomatoes.

Gray walked closer to the kitchen and stood at the island."I'm sorry that things got so heated between us, that's not what I wanted."

"I needed you to believe me and you couldn't,Gray."
I turned around and looked at him."Are you sorry about that?"

He looked down at the floor unable to look at me and give me the answer I desperately needed.
I wanted him to believe me so bad, but he couldn't. He didn't trust me.

"I guess I have my answer."I walked to the fridge in a huff and took out some salad for dinner.

"You were mixing your medication with Alcohol and you blacked out, I didn't know what to think."
Gray walked around the island and into my space, placing his hand on my arm."I was worried about you,Layne. I'm scared for you."

"But not for the reasons you need to."

He sighed."What can I do..What can I do to make this right?"

He knows exactly what he needs to do to make it right, believe me. But he can't find it in him to do that.
He couldn't even lie and pretend that he believed me.
