What was she speaking? Was it even making sense to her?
"That is certainly the crappiest nonsense I have ever heard."
"Yeah I know, the truth hurts baby."
"Maybe."
"Really Ginna, you can't be in control of everything in your life all the time. Sometimes you got to trust in god's plan for you."
"You know I like being in control. It's always been like that."
"Yes, but you need to let loose in some aspects. In the end you are going to end up where you're destined to so why try to control stuff that is beyond you. Just go with the flow."
"Kyles, I promise I will reflect upon what we talked about but for now let's just go back to the fun conversation. I don't want to feel heavy and serious before I meet with Adrian."
Uff I can't handle too much of heavy talk at this hour of the day.
"One last question, Is he more of a Zac Efron or a Harry Styles."
"He's somewhere in between them, I think. He still doesn't have Zac Efron's beard but he isn't as clean as Harry Styles either." I smiled while picturing him with the light stubble that had grown on him.
"Who isn't as clean as Harry Styles?" Adrian nudged me from behind. I hadn't even realized he was here.
"Okay Kylie I got to go. I'll talk to you later. Love you."
"Love you too, Byee."
"Who were you talking to Kylie about?"
"Nothing just some actor we are crushing on."
"Who?"
"uhhh....Zachary Gordon" I came up with something fast.
"Ummm, Okay so what's up? What do you want to do?"
"Let's just walk for a while and then I want to try Mexican today."
"Yeah sure. I know a place you might like."
"So, you and Kylie are still tight?"
"Yes, we are. She got into Parsons."
"And what about you and Nick? Did something happen there?"
"We dated for some time and then broke it off. He's at Georgetown now, doing law."
"That's good. I didn't like him anyway." He chuckled.
"Whatever, we are still friends though. And since we are talking about the past, I want to know how you escaped." Looked like I dropped a bombshell.
He thought for a few seconds before answering.
"My neighbor Mr. Finns helped me to escape while he relocated to Chicago."
"You know I didn't want to tell you that day but I really wasn't disappointed in you because of the journal incident three years ago. I was hurt because you didn't have the courtesy to at least inform me and say goodbye before running away. I cared about you; you know that."
"To tell you the truth I was going to tell you that day about Chicago but I was too pissed at you after I overheard that I spoil your day. It felt like betrayal at that time, as if you were just pretending to care for me."
"Adrian, come on I wasn't serious about what I said. You could have confronted me instead of fighting with me."
"I was a different person then and I had a lot of anger inside me. It clouded my judgement. I am sorry once again for hurting you."
"Apology accepted."
We talked about random stuff for a while. He told me about his time in Chicago and I told him about my time at school after he was gone.
"Adrian why did you change your surname to Beckham now? Isn't it weird for you to share surnames with David Beckham? You know right, a surname isn't going to make you his relative." I laughed.
"You might have an idea why I did that. I did it because I wanted to start my life afresh. I didn't want anything to remind me of my affiliation with my father and the time I spent with him. And 'Beckham' is my tribute to my favorite footballer. I know it sounds stupid but I am a big fan."
"So that man I saw that day was your father."
"Yes." He agreed hesitantly.
We had some amazing tacos and quesadilla for dinner before he dropped me at home. I changed by clothes and got ready to sleep. After today, I was feeling a lot closer to Adrian. It was as if some barriers had been broken down. We got closure over what happened years ago and he even opened up to me for the first time. I was finally seeing more of the BIGGER PICTURE.
