"If it gets infected, it'll be really bad..."

But so much had changed since then... and this very incident was sufficient proof of that. The last incident was directly caused by him, yet he refused to apologise and kept pushing the blame on her. But this time, when he had nothing to do with it, he felt pain for her. He got mad for her. His heart... it clearly ached for her.

"Should I go get some antiseptic...?"

Whether it ached for her because of the same reason Jieun's heart would ache for him when he was sad, or whether it was as a friend, as someone he had slowly learnt to trust and rely on, Jieun was glad. She was thankful, she was happy. Jieun smiled as she slowly reached out a hand towards the top of Jungkook's head, with those fluffy locks of hair...

"This won't do-"

Jungkook's voice was cut off mid-sentence as he felt Jieun's hand pat the top of his head and glanced up, meeting her eyes once again.

Badoom. Badoom. Badoom.

Jieun's breathing hitched, the smile slowly disappearing from her face as she finally realised in horror exactly what she was doing, and that Jungkook was staring directly at her.

"Oh-" Jieun retracted her hand instantly, looking away as she turned beet red. She cleared her throat awkwardly and tossed her hair backwards in embarrassment. "Um, there was something in your hair."

In the corner of her eye, she spotted Jungkook rising to his feet and taking his seat on the couch next to her once more. In that moment, all she wanted to do is turn to glance at him and find out exactly what his facial expressions were... but the atmosphere had become so uncomfortably tense and awkward for Jieun she simply couldn't bring herself to do it-

"Well!" Jieun got to her feet at once, clapping her hands together and chuckling loudly. "Um! Everyone must be looking for you, I think we should go back, before the director gets upset."

Jieun, still blushing furiously, wondered why the temperature in the room had suddenly cranked up a whole notch. Still not having the guts to steal a glance at Jungkook, she turned to leave... but at that very moment, she felt a hand grab hers and pull her back down on the couch, back into her same sitting position. Jieun opened her mouth to speak, to ask Jungkook what he was doing, or why exactly he was doing what he was doing.

But that's when she felt it.

She felt his big warm hand slide over hers and grab it tightly. The tingling sensation that it sent through Jieun's entire body at that very moment was indescribable. Jieun's eyes widened as she turned to look at Jungkook, not knowing exactly what to say.

Jungkook turned to glance at her at that moment, his eyes gleaming and a small smile playing at his lips. It wasn't the biggest smile Jieun had ever seen from him, but it definitely was one of the most genuine one she had ever seen - not those huge fake smiles he gave on variety shows to the fake hosts who didn't give a damn about him as a person, but a small genuine smile that felt like it could warm her up on a chilly winter morning.

Jieun glanced down at his hand that rested firmly on hers, before glancing up at him once more, completely confused about what was happening. In fact, was it really happening? Could this all possibly be a dream? It seemed way too good to be true. Perhaps... Perhaps, was there the slightest chance that, maybe... maybe he returned a small little teeny weeniest portion of her feelings for him...?
