I woke up after having a nice sleep and I can see Arnold looming over me.
"You okay?" He asks me as he helps me up
I nod wearily "How Long have I been asleep?" I ask
"Since half 9 last night why?" He answers
"Feels shorter" I laugh "What's the time?"
"8:45am" He replies as he passes me my lunchbox and bag
"Thanks but you didn't need to do my lunch, I could've just had a hot dinner" I say
"No," Arnold said "You've had packed lunch for over a year now"
"Yah True" I say
"When your dad back?" He asks me as we walk downstairs
"Either this afternoon or tomorrow" I reply as I sneak into the sleeping quarters and I come out dressed and hair done and Steele walks by and hands me my prefect badge and I place it on my uniform.
"I didn't trash anything in the house so it be all in tact for when he gets back" I say
Arnold nods "I'll walk you up"
"Thanks Arnold" I reply
We walk to the bus stop "Any plans for the weekend?" He asked me
"I'm going to Pontypandy Mountains with two of my friends from school tomorrow" i say
"We better all be on standby then" Arnold joked
I laugh "Ha ha"
"So which two friends are going with?" He asked
"Mallory Spies and Zara Samuel" I say
Arnold nods "Just be" he starts
"Safe?" I answer
He nods "Just be safe" he says after I had finished his sentence
"Will do" I reply
I then clamber onto the bus and I can see the older kids talking about there sports day. I stayed quiet and thought about how life was going. Saturday was tomorrow. Cadets on Monday and I'm now a full time one. Boyce prompted me two ranks in the space of three months. Amazing I know right.
Then we reach the secoundary school and I'm still in deep thought as they clamber off. When we approach mine Trevor honks his horn.
"Oh sorry" I say "Didn't realise we were here"
He nods and I walk off and I automatically meet Annabell.
"Your in deep thought so spill" she says
"I'm scared" I admit "Dad has been in Newtown with Jackson from Newtown fire station all week"
"So who's been looking after you?" She asks
"Myself and the crew pop in to check how I'm doing" I say
"So you've been home alone a whole week?" She asks
I nod "Yeah, I guess I have"
We see Zara as soon as we reach class.
"Ready for Saturday?" She asks me
"Ready as I ever be" I smile
And we walk in after placing our stuff on the pegs
"Morning class, bath problem fixed Jones?" Mrs Sandy asked me
"Yes miss, it is miss" I answer shaking a little
"Good, who would like to tell miss jones what she missed yesterday?" She asked
