The next morning I wake up to Brandon tapping my shoulder, "Wake up!"

"Okay okay I'm up", I look at my alarm

7:00a.m.

I groan and Brandon drags me out of bed

He heads back to his room and I walk to my closet, I pick out my outfit, simple and nice

My phone rings and I look at the notification

Message from Joey

I open it but there's no message, did he delete it?

Maybe he did...but why? Did he want to tell me something?

No, you're tripping Lauren.

I sigh and walk to the bathroom, I brush my teeth and face etc

My mom calls my name from downstairs, "Laurie! Honey, come downstairs to eat breakfast"

"Coming!", I yell

Brandon's already sitting at the table chugging down his orange juice while my mom is cutting up a bowl of fruit

"I'm not too hungry this morning, I'll just take the fruit bowl", I admit

She furrows her brows, "Don't start your day on an empty stomach"

"I know", I answer

She hands me the fruit bowl and I take a seat beside Brandon, it gets quiet until my mom breaks the silence

"I'm not going to be able to pick you guys up from school for a while", she places my lunch bag on the table

I look up, "what?"

She looks at me, "I didn't tell you yesterday because I didn't want to upset you"

I pick at my fruit, "Why?"

"My boss said I'll have to stay in longer than usual for a while until he plans out a schedule for me"

"And?", I furrow my brows

She continues, "When he told me I found it difficult to bring it up to you guys...especially since you guys are attending new schools, I just didn't want to upset the both of you"

I'm just not in the mood this morning but now I feel bad, "It's okay mom, you didn't have to hide it from us"

I get up to hug her, "I understand"

She pulls away with a smile, "Thank you sweetie"

I smile, "Mhm"

The bell rings for everyone to get to class and I make my way through the crowded halls, ugh why can't people just move out the way?

I make my way to class just in time and everyone's seated in their seats

Mr.Wilson walks in with his morning coffee, "Good morning"

Everyone faces the board and quiets down, "Can I have everyone's homework assignment passed to the front of the classroom?"
