There is nothing unusual about the tree. It's all like the normal trees. I roll my eyes at this. The only extraordinary thing is the purple flowers sprouting along the circular boundary of the tree. They are similar to orchids in shape but I haven't seen purple orchids ever in my life. The dense leafiness of the tree has created a shade all around causing the atmosphere to turn soothing and mitigating. I sigh in dismay when Armaan sits under the tree's shade.

Nothing happens!

Not a single leaf turns.

"Didn't you want to try this?" He asks as he eyes me amusedly.

I can't believe this guy is still eager to prove that stupid thing. But there is nothing wrong with trying. With that thought, I walk ahead and sit beside him under the shade. Likewise, nothing happens. I glare at him in frustration when suddenly my legs and arms start feeling seized by something fluffy and delicate. My eyes widen when the leaves are still placed far from me but the impression of the soft leaves wavering on my body is clear.

"Oh my God!" I say in a loud voice when I can feel the burden up till my neck. Unwittingly, I clasp onto Armaan's arm tightly.

In an instant of a second, everything goes back to normal instead that I am breathing heavily with a hand placed on my chest.

But this is amazing!

"Now you believe me?"

I look up at Armaan who is looking at me with a smug on his face. I soon notice my hand on his arm which I pull away promptly.

"How do you know about this place?" I change the topic quickly. I touch the static leaves with the pulps of my finger. How come they are not moving even a bit when the wind is blowing swiftly.

"Because of my Mom. I used to come here with her," he replies. I can sense the change in his intonation to a shaky and unsteady one. Suddenly I remember my Dad when he mentions his mother.

"Do you miss her?" I ask as I cover the purple orchid with my palm. I smile when its soft petals collide with my skin.

"Yes. Sometimes I wonder why she had to leave us so early," His eyes are locked on a distant place. I can see his eyes getting wet.

"You know why I always come here? Because this place reminds me of her. I can smell her fragrance from every nook of this place. This place became dear to me because this was her favorite place," His voice gets cracked in the end.

"But I am always afraid to come here because the past memories haunt me like a hungry bloody creature, " He proceeds but this time his voice becomes stern and he clenches his hand in a tight fist.

"What do you mean?" I ask not understanding him. How comes he is afraid to visit his mother's favorite place.

"Can you see that swing?" He asks back still not looking at me.

I nod my head as my eyes catch a glimpse of colorful swing some distance away from where we are sitting.

"This was the place where she had died in front of my eyes and I was not sensible enough to do anything. That person had hurt her and ultimately made her die and I am not able to stand against him because of my Mom's vow, " he lets out in a rough tone.

It's like he is not aware of with whom he is sharing all of this. But who is the person he is talking about?

"Who had hurt her?" I ask abruptly.

He turns towards me with a jerk. From the look in his eyes, I am sure he has said all of this subtly. It's like he was in a trance a while ago.

"No one. Nothing. "

And at that moment I realize I shouldn't have asked him that. I turn my head to the leaves below. The dampness of them has become more surged as the darkness is slowly unraveling its wings all around. The flowers are now looking more elegant in the dusk. I slowly stroke the flowers with my hands.

"Zara?"

Engrossed in the beauty of flowers, I just hum in the response.

"I am sorry."

My moving hand on the flower impasses as I uncertainly look at him. He is likewise looking at me with a considerate look in his eyes. There is no hint of amuse or fun on his face. Is he again planning to tease me?

"What did you say?" I ask while laughing slightly.

"I am sorry for doing what I have done to you, for acting like a jerk with you. I am really sorry," he says as his voice turns low and husky.

I don't know what to say. I dumbfoundedly stare at him trying to comprehend every word he has said. There is complete silence stretch between us. I can see he opens his lips to say something and then close them right after. Our attention diverts when my phone starts ringing. Hurridly I take it out of my pouch. Mr. Wajahat is again calling me. I promptly get out of the shade without saying anything.

'Yes, Mr. Wajahat?'

I speak as soon as I attend the call.

'Zara, there is really an important advancement that occurs in your father's case. Can we meet?'

'Today is not possible for me. What about this weekend?'

I ask as I rub my arm with the other hand in concern. I hope everything is fine. I sigh with relief when he accepts this.

The darkness has got more prevailed. The night time has already commenced. I come back to the tree to find Armaan still sitting there with his eyes still on the swing. I clear my throat to get his attention.

"Shall we go back now? It starts getting dark now." I rotate my eyes around and at this time, this area is looking scarier as there is no one present anymore. He looks at me and wearily nods his head.

"This is for you."

I astoundingly look at the purple ostrich in his hand which is aim towards me.

"My mother has asked me to give this flower to the first person I will bring here," he explains with a smile. I confusedly stare at him then the flower in his hand before taking the delicate flower from him. I can't believe I am the first one who has accompanied him here after his mother.

"I am the first person whom you bring here?" I ask as we start walking side by side. He just nods his head.

"Haven't you bring your girlfriend here?"

"She doesn't like secluded places like this. She is a fun-loving girl. She will get bored to hell if she comes here," he replies as a grin adores his lips. This smile is enough for anyone to decipher that he loves that girl so much.

"Thanks for this." I sniffle the sweet fragrance of the flower. He only shakes his head as he eyes me.
