Jared's P.O.V.

I pried my eyes open and yawned. I began to stretch, but froze and widened my eyes as I looked down at the sleeping Evan, who was laying his head on my chest. I blushed a deep red. We had fallen asleep... Good thing it was a Friday, or we would be screwed.

Then I remembered that I wasn't wearing my binder. I started to panic, but forced myself to stay calm as much as I was able to. I slowly slid out from underneath him and, somehow, managed to creep into my bathroom without waking him up. I sighed with relief as I got dressed for the day. My blush had just faded as I left the bathroom and sat in my desk chair. I looked over at Evan and felt the blush creeping back into my face.

He's adorable when he's asleep.

I realized I was staring, and shook myself out of my thoughts.

No, he's your fr- family friend. Besides, he's straight, I reminded myself for the hundredth time.

I grabbed my ear buds and listen to YouTube for about half an hour before Evan woke up.

"W-what time is it?" He asked, yawning.

I pointed to the clock next to my bed. It was around eight thirty. "You can read numbers, right?"

He checked his phone and began to freak out. I raised an eyebrow and he explained, "My mom called me FIVE TIMES! she's going to kill me!"

I had to hold back a chuckle as I motioned to his phone. "Ya might wanna call back."

He nodded and stood up. He had to call her twice before she picked up.

"Hey, mom, I'm so sorry that I didn't call last night, I fell asleep, and- Jared's house. Yes, no, I'm actually at Jared's."

I walked over and put my face near the phone, "He's really with me, Mrs. Hansen." Then I backed off.

"Okay," Evan continued after mouthing 'thank you' to me, "I will next time, I promise. I'm really sorry. Okay... I love you, bye."

Evan walked back over and plopped down onto my bed. He sighed. "Sorry."

"for what...?"

"Um, well, I fell asleep and I don't know if you wanted me to stay or anything and then I could gotten you in trouble or something if your parents found out, and-"

"Dude, chill. First off- again- if I didn't want you here, I woulda kicked you out when I wanted to, and my parents don't care. Plus, they've already left for work, probably."

"Okay," he chuckled nervously and rubbed his arm.

I rolled my eyes playfully and stood up. "C'mon, let's get food. I'm starving." He nodded and followed me down to the kitchen. "So how long do you wanna stay? You didn't bring clothes or anything, but you can hang out for a while if you want." I secretly kinda wanted him to hang out for a while, but I wasn't going to say that to him.

"Oh, well, my mom won't be home until after dinner, so if you want to hang out, then I could stay for a while."

"Sure, I got nothing better to do," I shrugged and tossed a muffin at him, "Catch."

When I sat across from him at the table, a thought tugged at the back of mind.

I set the muffin that I snatched for myself down and looked up at the boy sitting across from me.

"Hey, Acorn?"

"Hm?"

"What do you think about the lgbtq+ community?"
