When I look at you: A tear drops from heaven

Foreword

I come back after one year since my debut novel: Her. I've taken the time to accrue knowledge, develop my tone as a writer. This time, I want to convey a more mature tone and a consolidated book rather than rushing to finish. Hopefully, the work of this past one year will pay off through the new book.

The inspiration--or should I say an epiphany moment?-- for the series When I look at you suddenly made it arrival on a weekend day. In fact, it was a cloudy day while I was on my car looking at the row of people moving and struggling in traffic. And suddenly...it pours...Not too hard...But really cold...I saw those droplets ceaselessly falling on rooftops, raincoat, and the road.They're transparent as crystal yet once they touch the surface: dissipated. Like they have never existed in the first place

So the first scene of this book appears in my head about the conversation of the two main characters on the rainy day. The rain seems forlorn as if they were tears from the sky. Henceforth, I start to write about an obscure place yet still preserves its vitality thanks to a group of young people who are fighting and working tremendously hard to protect their own ideal of "humanity".

In a very unknown place of the Earth, a group of young people facing a rough battle everyday of saving others' lives. Each decision has ripped and swallowed their conscience everyday; they feel hurt, anger, and guilt. Yet, they clench their hearts and carry on....

Bond is built on trust. Bond is built on misunderstanding. Bond is built on tears and jubilation when saying farewell or succeeding in saving a life. As time comes, secrets will unveil after stripping to its most naked version. They cannot escape.

A place like this does exist yet it feels utterly separate from the urban world that we're dwelling on everyday. Complaints about low salary, bossy colleagues, or running late on paying bills--none of that exists in this world. In this world, the problems narrowed down to two: Save or Capitulate. They seldom let it be the second option.

This book (or the entire series) will not be similar to most ff that readers had discovered. It's not just a picture of romance but romance rather serves a small element that is blooming between the young people that need to lean on each other to survive. 

Will destiny grant them the answers they're all looking for? Sure, only they can answer.
