I've added a picture for all those who don't know Fjor.

First days can be very stressful, especially in high school.
You have the issues of choosing your clique, getting noticed by the guys and staying in your teacher's good side by not running into class past like the bell, like you did.

"Sorry I'm late." You avoid glances from the students. "I had car trouble."

"Class, this is our new student, Y/N." Erik introduces you. "Anything you'd like to say about yourself?"

"I'm just returning from studying abroad in the United States and I was born in Oslo, Norway." You smile once the class calms down. "And I have a part time job at the local hospital as a nurse." You absentmindedly brush a strand of ginger behind your ear.

"Welcome to Edda secondary school, Y/N. Feel free to sit anywhere." Erik gives you a welcoming smile and you climb through the tangle of legs to an empty seat near the back beside a blonde-haired girl. You could've guessed she was the principal's daughter at first glance from the family portrait in the office. "Today we are talking about Ragnarøk, and that is what exactly?"

You raise your hand. "The end of the world, technically. It's a war between Gods and Giants, or heroes. Neither side won, for the lady in the middle never died and continued resurrecting."

The girl beside you slides a note to you.

'How do you know all that?'

You write your answer below.
'My family was big into Norse mythology. Hvem er du?'

"Saxa Jutul." The blonde shakes your hand. "Snakker du engelsk?"

"Yup. Kind-of had to learn English in order to communicate with the citizens."

You get into the groove of the lesson and follow Saxa to the cafeteria for lunch. You take the chair beside her and open your lunch bag that contains chicken nuggets, an American favorite, and fruit snacks for dessert.
The entire table continues to ask questions about your time in America and the chatter ceases when a devilishly handsome senior strolls into the cafeteria and plonks himself on the table.

"Who's the fresh meat, Saxa?" He questions the girl.

"Minä olen, Y/N." You reply, catching him off guard with your Finnish approach. "Ja sinä olet?"

"Fjor Jutul." He shakes your free hand. "Are you fluent in Norwegian, or just Finnish?"

"As a kid I was very fluent in Norwegian. But being in the US, I lost my accent and also started to study more of their language."

"It was mukava to meet you." Fjor winces, hoping he pronounced the Finnish word correctly.
