  ~Act I~
Gravedigger

A small village within the Earth Kingdom, far off the reaches of other areas was set to be taken by a nearby Fire Nation camp. The attack would start at dawn, but they would not be prepared for the night.

As they prepared themselves, guards were posted outside. Watching and standing guard for any and all threats that would pose any disruptions to their plans. But all seemed too perfect. There were no warriors miles around. This small village would be a good starting point for supplies and to remain out of any real Earth Kingdom threats.

A woman riding on the back of a Kamodo Rhino, nearing the exact encampment for the night. Looking over a map of the area.

Kaida: This should prove useful as a resting point for a time.

Reiko: How long do we remain there once we arrive Lady Kaida.

Kaida: Not for too long. IF we stay too long, we'll lose what progress we've already lost to other distractions.

Reiko: Right. Your brother. I'm sorry you did what you had to do to him.

Kaida's face grew somber for a moment, only for it to return to her usual cold state before Reiko, her guard, could notice.

Kaida: Don't be. My only problem is I never could recover his remains. I would have  loved to at least keep his head. . . Why? Are you saddened by his passing?

Reiko: N-No. Not at all. It's just-

Kaida: Oh need to lie. After all, I know you are aware of the plan father had for you two if he was captured alive. But, alas. You can shed your tears for your husband. Would that make you a widow? Hehehee, well what can you do?

There is silence for a moment as Reiko just looks ahead, not wanting to admit she was a bit saddened by your demise. The ride for the most part is quiet. Kaida wasn't much for conversation. Not with Reiko, or any of the other assassins her father sent along with her for this journey.

Reiko: You think we can capture the town?

Kaida: Easily. What with the forces we have waiting for us, and a handful of my clan's best assassins. We'll slowly creep into the Earth Kingdom like an infection. Then drain them of all they have in the name of the Fire Na-

Kaida goes silent as she looks in the distance with wide eyes. Reiko follows her gaze as the scent of smoke fills the air. She looks to see smoke, rising from the location of where the camp was set up. Reiko stared in surprise as well as Kaida sped off to see the results of what happened.

Reiko follows along with their assassins, looking around the ashes and cinders of the camp. Kaida leaps off along with the others to see what had happened. Reiko also looked around seeing nothing but arrows, ashes, cinders, and blades on the ground.

Reiko looked to see light traces of blood on the ground, but no bodies. It was like they were taken by a spirit or something. Kaida looked around as she noticed something sticking up out of the ground. She makes her way over to it as she noticed it was a hand holding a scroll sticking out of the ground.

It also appeared that the ground was shifted, as if it was manipulated by an earth bender to bury the body. She took the scroll and read the contents. Reiko noticed her reading the scroll as it begins to burn from the center. The paper later being engulfed in flames.

Reiko: What is it? What happened?

Kaida turns to Reiko with a face mixed with anger and yet satisfaction due to the results.

*A Few Days Later*

For as long as you could remember, there was never a time you don't remember being hunted. All kinds of assassins from the fire nation and bounty hunters of all kinds have hunted you all your life. Even hunters from the Earth Kingdom have tracked you. You here always wanted, but never for the right reasons.
