I woke up, feeling the cold sement on my back. My body felt weak. I looked around and saw chains. The place looked familiar to me.
Then realization dawned me.
I nodded. Indeed it was familiar.
It was the castle dungeon. Napaupo ako at tiningnan ang aking mga paa. There were also chains.
One for my hand, one for my foot. With it's metal touching my skin, I felt the pain. It was too painful. The metal must be made with wolfsbane. How lucky can I be?
I know realized what happened, fucking traitors. How could they? As the chains burn, there's only one person who's inside my mind right now,
Pride.
I should've let him explain. I should've trusted him. He never lied to me.
My mate, my poor mate. I abandoned him and thought of him as an evil being. My wolf whimpered inside me. I couldn't help but to long for his touch, his warmth, his scent.
I looked at my cell, I tried to push my finger out but then stings. There's a barrier covering the whole cell. I couldn't help but to flinch. Umasim ang aking mukha. Napatingin ako sa labas ng aking selda. It seems like I'm the only person here.
I tried using my powers but I couldn't. It looked like magic is enabled inside this cell. Umupo nalang ako ng maayos. Waiting for someone. I tried talking to my wolf but she was unresponsive to my pleas. I sighed.
This cell is draining my life force.
Is this the end?
'No it's not.' nagulat ako ng biglang may nagsalita. Napatingin ako sa paligid ngunit walang tao, ang mayroon lamang ay isang anino. Nanlalaki ang mga mata ko. Could it be?
'You can't die yet, because you're getting warmer.' a voice from the shadows said.
I looked at it.
"Who are you?" I asked.
'Why would I tell you?' Tanong niya pabalik.
Her voice was dark yet feminine. She's a shadow, meaning—someone behind all of this was a girl?
'I'm enjoying this game, but sadly you won't win it.' she even whispered to my ear.
Her voice gave me chills. What she said confirmed that she wasn't an ally. But who is she? Why is she doing this?
Magsasalita na sana ako ng bigla siyang maglaho. Napaisip naman ako. Sinong babae ang may gawa ng lahat ng ito? At bakit? Could it be one of my friends? Ex's nina kuya? I need answers.
My palms fisted as I felt hunger.
Nasa kalagitnaan ako ng pag iisip ng biglang sumabog ang pintuan ng selda ko. There I saw a man who resembled Pride, but has younger features. Pride's face was sharper while this guy's features are softer.
"W-who are you?" confused na tanong ko.
"I'm Envy. And I'm the one who's getting you out of here," he said at kinuha ang kamay ko. Agad naman akong lumayo sa kanya.
"How would I know if I could trust you?" tanong ko.
"You wouldn't believe my words so it's better to show you." aniya. Tumitig siya sa mga mata ko at ganun din ang aking ginawa.
There I saw memories of him tying Pride and helping him and Nathan escape from my brother's cell. He was Pride's little brother. Doon nagtapos ang memorya at bigla akong bumalik sa tamang huwisyo.
"Why did you tie him up?" galit na tanong ko.
"Just hold my hand. He needs you right now," he said at tumingin sa labas. Napamura siya ng makita niya ang buwan. It was now gold. Nagtatakang ibinalik ko ang aking tingin kay Envy ngunit iniabot ko na ang aking kamay sa kanya.
"You need to keep Pride sane, or else he'll lose himself to the devil permanently." bulong niya saakin bago kami biglang naglaho.
Pagmulat ko ng aking mga mata ay nasa ibang lugar na ako. Hawak parin ni Envy ang aking mga kamay. Isa itong lumang mansyon sa aking pag ka-kaalala. My eyes roamed around the place and confirmed my suspicion.
This was one of the old vampire mansions.
"He needs you," he repeated.
Trust me, I know he needs me now more than ever.
"I know," saad ko, umiling lamang siya. Gumayak kami at huminto sa isang kwarto.
"This is his room." saad niya.
Papasok na sana ako ng pigilan niya ang aking kamay.
"I must warn you Zette, he isn't himself right now. He's fighting with the devil inside him. He used the devil's gift to summon me when he was still inside the chambers. He used that for us to save you," he looked at me with coldness yet worry in his eyes.
"And now it's time for you to save him too."
I nodded lightly. Even though I don't fully understand what he said.
"How?"
I want to help with my outmost power.
"You must finish the mating bond." saad niya.
Napatango nalang ako. I was feeling nervous because I haven't told him how much I loved him yet here I am, willing to finish the bond with him. Oh Goddess please help me.
After Envy's warning ay binitawan niya na ako. Huminga muna akong malalim bago pumasok sa loob.
