"Sinusundo kita," Gerald said in a serious tone.

"How did you know I'm here?" Asher asked, kinakabahan. She couldn't look straight in his eyes. "Eto na naman ang mga mata niya", bulong niya sa sarili.

"Nothing, Answer my question, please. How did you...?"

"I was at the front of your building. Nagbakasakali lang. Saw the guard, introduced myself, and asked if you're still here. He said yes so I decided to wait for you in the car. Five minutes and you still didn't appear down so here I am. Did you have your dinner?" pang-iiba ni Gerald ng usapan.

"I....."sasabihin niya sanang tapos na, pero bigla na namang kumalam sikmura niya.

Nang marinig niya ang pag-ungol ng tiyan nito, walang pag-aatubiling nilapitan ni Gerald si Asher at hinawakan sa mga kamay. "Let's go."

"Teka lang!..Bitiwan mo nga ako!. What do you think you're doing?"

"You, woman, what do you think you're doing? You're killing yourself!" galit na turan nito.

"So? Let me go! I'm going home. Sa bahay na lang ako kakain."

"No. You'll come with me. I will make sure you'll eat food."
