After the performance, Teressa and I said goodbye to the Fredrickson's and decided to head off and explore the school. The performance was awesome! The dance moves were amazing and the singing was so cool. Teressa and I really enjoyed it. We walked down an empty hall and peeked through the doors. "Felix, look! The science class has a big skeleton." Teressa exclaims "You don't say." I reply. I must admit, I am very nervous to start school. Not only is everyone here going to be smarter than me, but they all have money and are top of the class. I sigh and begin to think of all the ways people can make fun of me. Suddenly, I feel Teressa tugging at my shirt. I look down and she has a worried look on her face. "What's wrong?" I ask "I forgot to use the bathroom when I left the house. Can we go look for the restroom please." Crap! "The restroom could be anywhere! This school is enormous. Can't you hold it?" I yell. Teressa shakes her head. "I've been holding it since the performance." She says sheepishly. I put my hand on my head and begin to panic. "Um, let's go here." I ran across the hallway and past several classrooms. The floors were marble so the floor was very slippery. "FELIX! I FOUND IT!" Teressa's voice echos as she runs to the next hallway. "OKAY!" I yell. I walk around admiring all of the student's work that was hung up on the walls. Painting, poems, sheet music. I look to my left and see a large trophy case. There were dance, art, music, sports, and academic trophies. Wow, these kids must have potential. I'm such a loser compared to everyone. I turn around and accidentally bump into someone. "Er, sorry. I didn't mean to-" My eyes widen and I start to panic. God no. Please no. "Well, well, well, look who we have here. What is a pathetic piece of shit like you doing in a place like this? I didn't think I'd see you again, Felix." It was Gilbert. He stuck his chin up and put his hands in his pockets and gave me that same damned smirk. I glared at him and decided to ignore him. "Excuse me, I have to go." I begin to storm off to find Teressa when Gilbert stops me. "So you're not even going to stop and say hi. Wow, hahaha I'm hurt." Gilbert says putting his hand on his chest acting like if I just hurt his feelings. "I don't have anything to say to you, please just leave me alone," I say clenching my fists. " How the hell did you get here. Did your broke ass mom win the lottery or something?" I felt the anger start to boil inside of me but I tried to remain calm. "It's none of your business. Get lost." I say turning around. I'm not dealing with his bullshit anymore. I can feel his eyes burning into my back but I don't turn around. I have to find Teressa. I feel a hand being placed on my shoulder and I whirl around. "Listen to me you bastard, You're going to end up alone here just like in middle school. You always have been alone and you will always be alone. Nobody cares about you, Felix-" I push his arm away from me cutting him off. "What the hell is your problem. Leave me the fuck alone." I run away leaving him but his words still echoed in my ears... "Where to now?" Teressa says as she skips down the hall. "I think we should go back outside. Mom has been waiting all this time." I say. "Yeah, you're right... HEY LOOK!" Teressa runs to the front desk. There was no receptionist there so she goes behinds the desk and starts snooping around. "Terri! I don't think you should be doing that. Let's just go already." Teressa ignores me and continues to look through the drawers. I roll my eyes and walk over next to her. "What are you even looking for?" I ask. Teressa looks at me, "A map of the school, DUH! Knowing you, You're probably going to get lost on the first day. SO! I think you should memorize this." Teressa hands me a booklet. I open at it. All the school's rules and bell schedules are on here. "This is cool and all but, Can we keep this?" Teressa sighs. "Felix, there are a million copies of that booklet. Who's gonna miss one. And besides, the school is rich so I'm positive that they could always print more." I give in and decide to keep the booklet. I flip through the pages and something caught my attention. "Hey, Terri. We need a uniform. Where the hell do we get those?" Teressa snatches the booklet and studies the page. "That is the least of all our problems. These uniforms aren't cheap and we also have to go school supply shopping. This school doesn't accept any school supplies however, they require school supplies that are manufactured by... Calloway Industries?" She says looking back at me. "Calloway? Hey, isn't that Gabriel's last name?" I ask. " I can't imagine how expensive those supplies must be. Do you think Johnathan could buy them for us?" I shrug. "I don't know. That bastard already enrolled us in this school so hopefully, he already bought us all the essentials." Teressa nods and we exit the school.... "So, How was the orientation?" My mom asks eagerly from the driver's seat. "IT WAS AMAZING! THE SCHOOL IS HUGE MOMMY! AND THEY HAD THIS SPECIAL PERFORMANCE IN THE BEGINING WITH THESE BOYS CALLED TRINITY AND IT WAS AWESOME!!!" If this were an anime, Teressa would have sparkles in her eyes. She buckled herself into her seat. "How wonderful! What do you think Felix." What do I think? I think that this school is going to be living hell part two! "I think the school is amazing mom," I say with a smile on my face. Damn it! Out of all schools Gilbert. Why here? Why now? I buckle myself into my seat. I thought this school was going to be different. Ha, I guess not. "That's so good to hear. Um, Your father gave me these two boxes full of school supplies and the uniforms for you two. I can't believe you guys are already going to school tomorrow." My mom says with a tired smile. "TOMORROW?!" Teressa and I yell in unison. "B-b-but classes aren't supposed to start until next week!" I say. "In other schools they do. This school likes to start early." My mom says looking at us. "YAY!" Teressa shoots her hands up in the air. "I'm so excited! This is going to be the best school year ever! Right, Felix?" I stare at the car floor. "Right," I say weakly. "I'm happy you guys are excited to be here. I guess we made the right choice" My mom turns around and she starts to drive us home.... "Here we are! Home sweet home." My mom says as we all get out of the car. "Mommy, I'm hungry," Teressa exclaims putting her hands on her tummy. "How about we order some pizza?" My mom says with a smile on her face. "PIZZA!" Teressa runs around the car excitedly and makes her way towards the doorway. I follow her and my mom opens the door with the keys. I walk in and see boxes around the house. "I guess the movers decided to drop off all of our stuff today. You guys should start unpacking while I order the pizza, okay?" Teressa and I nod and we start to look for our boxes. "LEO! I thought I left you at home." Teressa says hugging her stuffed leopard. I can't seem to find my box of stuff. We made sure to label everything but I can't find the box that says "Felix". Let's see, kitchen, living room, Teressa... Found it! I lift my boxes and head upstairs to unpack. I took out my lava lamp, my game consoles, and my computer and start to place them on top of shelves. I get up to unpack the other box when I see something in the corner of the room. My guitar? I run towards the corner, "I thought I forgot it at home?" I take out my guitar from its case. It's a bit dusty... It's been so long since I've played. I traced the strings with my fingers and smile as I begin to remember how it felt when I used to play. I play a few simple chords on the guitar and it slowly turns into a soft melody I used to play. I close my eyes and begin to feel the music, it's been so long......(Three Years Ago) "SERIOUSLY! YOU GOT THIS FOR ME!" it was my 11th birthday and I really wanted to learn how to play an instrument. I didn't care if it was a trumpet or a flute. I just wanted to play music. That year my mom saved up enough money to buy me a brand new acoustic guitar. "THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM! YOU'RE THE BEST MOM EVER!" I gave my mom the biggest hug and grabbed the guitar and ran upstairs. I didn't have any friends back then so it was just my mom Teressa and I that day. but I completely forgot about them as soon as I laid eyes on my new guitar. Of course, I had no idea how to play so I went online and watched videos for beginners. I learned simple chords and learned short songs and before I knew it I was already making my own songs. The reason I wanted to learn to play an instrument was that I desperately needed a way out. I had to escape this world and the only way I could do that was by playing my guitar. However, as life began to hit me harder I forgot about my guitar but now I have it in my arms and I'm not letting it go......(Present Day) "Is that your guitar?" Teressa asked as she peeked through my door. "Yea, I completely forgot about it. I guess mom must've put it in the moving truck." I say. "I can't believe you still remember how to play," Teressa says sitting on the floor. "Me neither." I start playing a few of my other songs and Teressa sways to the melody. "Hey, you should put lyrics into those songs," Teressa says. "Lyrics? I don't know, I'm not much of a writer." Teressa nods and she gets up. "Well, it was just a thought." The doorbell rings echoing through the house." Teressa runs downstairs nearly tripping, "PIZZA!" I walk downstairs and see Teressa already snatching her slices and stuffing them into her mouth. "Jesus, you act like you haven't eaten for years." I chuckle as I sit down. "Hey, I told you I'm hungry," Teressa says with her mouth full of food. "Sweetie, don't talk with your mouth full." My mom says as she sits next to me. "Yes, mommy." Teressa quickly finishes her food and pushes in her seat. "May I be excused?" She asks politely. "Yes, you may sweetie." Teressa rushes back upstairs and shuts her room's door. "So, tell me what do you think of the new school?" Mom asks, "Er, It's um, pretty big I guess." I say. I can't tell her about Gilbert. She already has enough on her plate. "Do you think the kids will be nice?"

"I hope so."

"Oh, I would like for you and Teressa to go and try on the uniforms. I need to see if they fit you guys well."

"Sure, where are they?"

"On the kitchen counter."

"Hey, mom?"

"Yes?"

"By any chance, were you the one who put the guitar in the moving truck?"

"Yes, I was thinking of selling it since you haven't touched it in so long but then I thought that maybe if you kept it, it would help you de-stress. I've noticed that this year you stressed out so much due to the constant fights at school and everything happening at home."

"Thanks, mom."I get up and hug my mom. "You're welcome, honey. Now go tell Teressa to try on the uniform." I nod and pick up the uniforms. I walk upstairs and knock on Teressa's door. "Terri, open up. Mom needs us to try on the uniform." Teressa quickly opens the door. "Ooo! Gimme that." Teressa snatches the uniform and slams the door in my face. I roll my eyes and walk into my room and shut the door. The uniform comes in a black box with the school's logo on the front. I take off the lid and take off the wrappings. Woah, this school went all out in the packaging. I examine the uniform. A plain white long-sleeve button-up shirt with a collar, black dress pants, a red tie, and a long sleeve maroon blazer with a black outline and the school's logo seamed on the top right of the blazer. I take off my shirt and put on the white long sleeve shirt first and button it up. I put on the red tie and then put on the blazer. Finally, I put on the pants and walk into the bathroom to see how I look. I look... ridiculous. How much did this damned thing cost? I look so professional... and I hate it! Will the school let me have my red hair tips or will I have to cut my hair? I let out a sigh. "WOW! YOU LOOK AMAZING FELIX! You're sure to get a girlfriend now." I look at Teressa. She has long white socks, a black mini skirt, a long-sleeve white button-up shirt, and a green blazer also outlined in black. "Wait a minute, how come you have a red uniform and I have to wear this green one? No fair I want to wear red too!" Teressa pouts. "Well I don't know if this helps, but you look like an adorable little librarian," I say teasing her. "HEY, I JUST COMPLIMENTED YOU AND YOU CALL ME A LIBRARIAN! YOU LOOK A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER THAN ME! I WANT TO LOOK GOOD TOO!" She says waving her arms around. "What's with all the commotion?" My mom comes into the hall and she freezes. She covers her mouth with her hands and begins to tear up. "Mommy, Why are you crying?" Teressa asks. "I'm so proud of both of you. You look so grown up." My mom hugs us tightly. She has always been super sentimental. She'd cry at the drop of a hat. "Um, Mommy..." Teressa begins. "Mom, we can't breathe," I say. "Oh, my bad." My mom laughs as she lets us go. "It's just...I'm so happy." My mom says while smiling. Teressa and I look at each other. I knew we were both thinking the same thing. It's been so long since we've seen our mom smile without having to force it. This was her real smile, and we missed it.... I change out of the uniform and put on a gray shirt and some random basketball shorts from my suitcase. I throw myself on my bed and stare at the roof. What's the point of even going to sleep. I have to wake up in two hours anyway. I start to get nervous. Tomorrow is it. I start school. I feel like crying. Most kids are excited to go to school and have friends waiting for them, but I'm still alone. I know I met the Fredrickson's, Gabriel, and Hugo but judging by what has always happened to me. I'll be left alone. Again....(End of Chapter Nine)
