You ever find someone

And they bring a smile to your face

It feels like you've known them a lifetime

They're on your mind and you don't mind

And then one day it all changes

It was something you don't understand

Something you try to deny

But she was gone all the same

He was gone from your grasp

They weren't there when you needed them

I've known people like that

And I forgot what her laugh sounds like

I forgot what his name was

And yet, they burn a place in my soul

You know?

Don't you?

Because you know how it feels

To watch her go away

To know he's gone

To lose them

It sticks with you

Like they never will

And everyone goes on

And you wonder how will you do the same

But it'll be okay, it's never going to be alright

But things will get better, no matter

Be a mother

A father

A brother

A sister

A sibling

A heart

A lover

A teacher

A student

A friend

A soul

And even though they've gone

At least you can keep on

Even when it burns

Even when it hurts

Even when it threatens to tear you apart

We all know how it feels for someone to leave 

Because like it or not, people come and go

And that's life's wake up call, I guess

Time and space and all that bullshit

But sometimes you just gotta keep going

Things will be okay, even if there are never quite alright

Yeah, things will be okay. Even if it's never quite the same again.

Because life is always changing, it'll be okay. Yeah.
