“Rochelle! Oh my God you would not believe what happened last period!”

“What? Haha calm down Ally!”

“It’s just crazy! Seriously! It’s not possible.”

“What’s not possible you’re really confusing me.” Rochelle sounded puzzled as I continued to speak through the phone.

“The dreams I’ve been having about that guy…” I spoke and hesitated. “There was this guy who came into my bio class, and he looked exactly like the guy in my dreams!”

“Uhhh…” Rochelle fumbled for words. “Are you sure? What do you mean?”

“The guy I’ve been dreaming about! He came into bio last period!”

“What?”

“Is it just some freaky coincidence? I’m spooked Rochelle!”

“It’s okay Ally just breathe. Look I’ll tell you what. I’ll talk to you tomorrow about it; maybe you’ve just had a rough day? I think you just need some sleep okay?” Her voice was reassuring.

“Alrighty then. Talk to you later Rochelle.” I hung up and thought about the boy in my dreams. There was no doubt in my mind that it was Vincent Jackson.

“Who are you?” I asked him. He smiled which made his faint dimples appear. His hair blonde hair was messy, but neat at the same time. It was just so sexy. He didn’t reply to my question and slowly began to walk closer to me. The giant trees that surrounded us swayed with the wind as the moons light shined through the leaves. His eyes searched me, examined my face and the emotions I expressed. He continued to walk towards me silently with the wind settling down. His face was only a few inches away from me. Insignificant moths fluttered silently around us a few times before following an invisible path towards the trees. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out. It was either I couldn’t hear him or he wasn’t saying anything. I became puzzled. The sun hit my eyes as I woke up in bed. Damn! I thought. I lay in bed wondering why he couldn’t speak. Vincent could speak, so why couldn’t he in my dreams? It was Vincent. I could just feel it. Everything about him was the same. I didn’t think Rochelle would understand how sure I was.

“Honey! Get out of bed! You’re going to be late!” Mum shouted from downstairs. I quickly sat up and got into my school uniform. I brushed my teeth and washed my face before grabbing an apple, kissing mum on the forehead and heading out to the bus stop.

I was late so I didn’t meet up with Rochelle before school. I hurried to my first period of the day and daydreamt through it all. I wonder if Vincent has dreams about me? I smiled at the thought. I just had to talk to Rochelle.

“So what is this about the guy in your dreams?”Rochelle asked at Recess. “Are you sure it really is him?” I nodded with no hesitation and watched her face for expressions. First it was ‘interested’ then, it was ‘puzzled’.

“I’m serious about this Rowe; I wouldn’t make this shit up, even if I really wanted to.”

“Maybe you just really liked him in your dreams or something and you daydreamt an average guy into the guy in your dreams? A…hallucination?” Rochelle seemed hopeful.

“No. I’m sure it was real. His name is Vincent Jackson and yeah, he is new.”

“I believe you Ally. Well that is some strange coincidence huh?” Rochelle thought aloud. The recess bell rang which meant it was time to head to the next class.

“Yeah it is strange. I have bio like right now. I’ll text you later okay?” Rochelle nodded. We parted ways as she had Creative Arts on the other side of the school.

I walked to class trying to steady myself and breathe calmly. When I entered I spotted Vincent observing the class in his seat, and it really looked like he didn’t care about anything at all. I avoided eye contact by staring at the ground when I sat in front of him. I was early to class and just sat at my table, waiting for Mr. Bonnet. William, a classmate, walked in with his head phones in his ears and bopped up and down as he made his way to his table at the back of the class. His graphics calculator slid out of his front pocket of his bag without him knowing, onto the floor near me. I leant over and reached for it. As I grabbed the calculator, I felt a hand over mine. Oh my God, just breathe Ally. Vincent’s hand quickly retreated but his touch lingered. When he touched me, it felt like hot needles were surrounding my hand. I reacted slowly, my hand still on the calculator. I slowly leaned back up to my normal sitting position and decided to give the calculator to William after class. I just didn’t want to walk over and give it to him at that point.

When class ended, William swiftly made his way to the front of the class. I grabbed onto him and handed over the calculator. He removed his ear phones to thank me and asked me how I got it. I told him it had slid out of his bag, and then the flash back of Vincent touching my hand came back to my mind. I quickly packed my belongings away and walked out the door.

“Hey! Hey! Wait a second,” Vincent’s voice called out. I turned to see that he had caught up with me.

He was talking to me? I looked around in case he was talking to someone behind me. I hated that.

“Gosh, you walk quite fast for a woman. Slow down sometime and smell the roses,” he said, as he looked at me.

What? What was I suppose to say or do…

“I’m Vincent by the way,” he didn’t motion his hand to shake mine; instead he gave me his gorgeous smile. The world seemed to slow as he flicked his hair to the side with a quick movement of his head. His dimples faintly appeared on his cheeks. Oh God, is he trying to make me melt on purpose?

“I’m Alison, but everyone calls me-“I didn’t finish my sentence when he interrupted.

“I just wanted to say I’m sorry about the calculator incident in class,” he said. “I have to go, but nice meeting you Alison.” He didn’t wait for me to reply as he turned to walk around me. What an ass. He didn’t even let me finish. That jerk! Well I guess he came to apologize. That was the reason he came to me in the first place.

“Are you kidding me Ally?” I turned around and Rochelle continued to talk. “That was him? Holy hell he is dreamy isn’t he? Are you friends already aye? Making a move? Nawh my Ally” she hugged me before I could say anything. I laughed and hugged her back.

“Yeah that’s Vincent. I don’t really think you could call us friends at this point of time. Come on, I’ll walk you to class and explain on the way.”  Rochelle looked like a puppy that just got a treat. She excitedly walked by my side as I explained what had happened in bio with Vincent.

“That’s so sweet. He came to apologize? How gentlemanly of him. I wish Ben would talk to me. But no, he talks to every other girl. It’s depressing,” she looked at me and we laughed together as we thought it was hilarious.

It was the last day of school for the week and I wasn’t truly looking forward to the weekend. I was eager to go to bio classes. I wanted to see him. To see Vincent. I don’t know, you could say I was attracted to him. There was something about him that made me drawn towards him.

Rochelle walked me to my bus stop and waved me goodbye as I got on. When I got home the only thing I could think about doing that would interest me was, sleep.
