chapter 29: new priorities

Beep!

Jieun put down her phone on her desk next to her and finished up on the article about BG Entertainment's statement, before sending it to Namjoon for vetting.

How she wished she had his number.

"Give me her number."

Seokjin looked up at Jungkook through the rear-view mirror. "Whose number?"

"Lee Jieun."

"Why?" Seokjin asked warily. "Why would you need her number?"

"Just give it to me," Jungkook said, refusing to explain. "You have it, don't you? Since you've been the one contacting her all this while, after all."

"Yeah, but obviously I need a good enough reason in order for me to give it to you. Why do you suddenly want her number?"

"Just give it to me first, I'll explain later."

"Jungkook-ah, I can't just randomly give anyone's number to someone else like that-"

"It's for my sleep."

Silence.

"I'll send it to you later," Seokjin finally relented. "Why? You think she's the only one who can make you fall asleep?"

"Yeah."

"Oh."

"I know it sounds crazy," Jungkook admitted. "But the amount of calmness I felt in that room with her that day... it's inexplicable. Last night, I was tossing and turning in bed again, feeling devastated that I may not have good sleep for the rest of my life. But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that she could be the answer to my problem."

Seokjin shrugged. "No harm trying. She helped you once, she may be your only hope at sleeping well again. Shall I arrange a psychiatrist appointment for you?"

"Yeah, that'll be nice-" Jungkook said with a nod. "In the meantime, I'll try to get her to agree to help me out again. She should be fine with it, since she was the one who suggested to help me the last time."

"I mean... if she does have a secret formula to help you sleep, that would be great." Seokjin glanced at Jungkook through the mirror. "You could definitely use some sleep right now, JK - you look horrible."

"Well, thanks."

"You know that's not what I mean-" Seokjin sighed. "You look stunning as usual, but your dark eye rings and how fatigued you look - that could go. Based on the current situation with Jennie-ssi and V-ssi, it's unlikely that your condition will get any much better."

"Yeah."

"I'll send you the Kappa advertisement photos of you and Jennie-ssi later on together with Lee Jieun's number," Seokjin reminded Jungkook. "Remember to post them before you go to bed tonight."

"I will, hyung. Don't worry."
