Mallory's POV
"Hello? Matt?" I ask as I walk inside
"He just left, to go find you at the 'soccer field' he thought you were lying, which you obviously were!" Grace says coming out of nowhere
"Okay well when you see my brother just let him know I'm home." I say starting to walk away
"You can't go upstairs. Matt told me to make sure you don't leave my sight. I don't think he trusts you that much." She says
"Listen here bitch. I'm matts little sister, if I tell him i don't like you, he'll drop you so quick, don't push your luck!" I say
"Yeah, like matts gunna breakup with me because his baby sister doesn't like me." She says
Then the front door opens "Well she wasn't at the soccer field." Matt says walking into the kitchen.
"Oh hey. There you are" he says to me
"Here I am" I say smiling
"Uh-huh. So where were you? Because you obviously didn't go running in that." He says motioning to my clothes I have on
"Okay fine. I went out.." I say looking down
"With Taylor? I swear I'll have mom ground you for life!"
"Chill bro I went to the mall, your birthdays in a few weeks and I wanted to get you something nice." I say
"Aw really?- wait how'd you get to the mall? You can't drive yet.." He says
"I uhm had Taylor drive me." I lie
"Did she have any shopping bags with her?" Matt asks Grace
"I didn't see any, babe." Grace says
"Mallory. I want the truth, Now!" He shouts
"Okay fine! Truth is I went to McDonald's with Taylor!" I shout
"Mallory I told you, you can't date him!"
"Why not?!" I ask
"Because he's way older than you, and he's my friend! That'd be weird!" He shouts
"He's 16! Only one year older than me! Besides you should be happy I wanna date one of your friends, because then I know you actually like him, unlike Joey!" I say
He looks down and sighs. He knows I'm right! YASSSS I WIN
"Your right, but you still lied and went out when you were grounded-"
"Please don't tell mom and George! I didn't get caught by the police this time, I brought myself home, and I told the truth. Pleaseeee Matty!" I beg
"Fine I won't tell them. But please just knock it off with the lying." He says
"Well I wouldn't have to lie if you let me date Taylor."
"Mallory-"
"I mean you just don't like it because you two are friends. I mean at least you like him and he likes you, right? Unlike me and-" pause for dramatic affect "that thing." I say referring to grace
"Matt!" She shouts
"Mallory!" Matt shouts
"Why are we shouting?!" I shout
"Can't you just get along with her, for my sake?" He asks me
"Only if she isn't a bitch to me, or actin like a slut-"
"I never act like a slut!" She interrupts me
"Matty let her go. Then we can be alone." I say mimicking what she said earlier to day
She just stands there
"What am I wrong?" I ask with a bit if attitude.
"Look, I'm going out with the guys Friday. Maybe you and Mallory can go have a girls day?" Matt asks Grace
"No can do big brother, I'm grounded." I say smirking
"Yeah she's grounded, I wouldn't wanna get her in trouble.." Grace says giving me a fake smile
"I'll talk to mom and George, don't worry they like me." He winks
"Yeah only because I make you look responsible!" I laugh
"Oh really because i think I'm pretty responsible" he says
"Oh yeah, says the one that left me at soccer practice!"
"Ooh that was one time!" He shouts and laughs
"More like 3 times" I laugh as I hop on his back
"Matty you forgot her at soccer?!" Grace laughs
"Only like 3 times.." He says with me still on his back
"So how'd you get home?" she asked
"I walked, in the poring rain! Thank you very much Matthew" I say
"You made your baby sister walk in the rain?!"
"The guys were over" he laughs
"Wow." She laughs
"Matt what time is it?" I ask
"9:50." He says looking at a clock on the wall
"Oh shoot I gotta go, my curfew is 10!" Grace says.
"I'll walk ya out." Matt says putting me back on the ground and walking Grace to the door.
After a few minutes later he returns.
"Alright time for bed kiddo!" Matt says
"Ya know Grace started being nice to me after you mentioned a 'girls day'. I think it's just so she doesn't have to hang out with me." I say
"Well I wouldn't wanna hang out with you either." Matt says with a smirk
"Okay, ouch. That hurt." I hit him playfully and laugh.
"I'm just kidding. But for real get to bed, mom and George will be home tomorrow at like noon." He says yawning and walking upstairs
I walk up shortly after and change into gray sweatpants and a pink sports bra and go to bed.
