Roman Sanders represented more than just creativity. Yes, he was Thomas' theatrical, imaginative side, but he was also the ego. And egos are as fragile as glass.

Unbeknownst to the others, Roman wasn't just bruised. He was bleeding. Every critical word stabbed him in the side. Each harsh look hurt like a knife to the gut.

Roman sat in his room, running his hand lightly over his stomach and arms, which were littered with scars. Some healed, others not. Outside he heard the muffled voices of the others. Sighing deeply, he tugged his sleeves back down, concealing the condition of his wrists. Then, he rose up, using his usual big demeanor. Chest puffed and a smirk on his face, he said,
"Greetings, plebs! What's going on?"
"Great, it's princey. Because what we need right now is to chase our dreams," Virgil remarked, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
"Now, Virgil, don't be mean," Patton chimed in.
"Actually, he's right. There's no time for any nonsense right now. This is serious." Logan adjusted just glasses, unaware of the fresh wound he had just created. Roman tried, unsuccessfully, to refrain from flinching.

No one noticed.

The others had moved on, saying something about Thomas' friends and their accomplishments.
"If his friends can do it, so can we!" Virgil rolled his eyes at this.
"Your unfounded optimism is insufferable at times. No, Thomas needs to..." Logan's words faded away as Roman's head filled with buzzing. Almost like a TV static of sorts. All of a sudden, he became very lightheaded and his surroundings transformed into a blur of colors. Someone grabbed his arm, reopening an old cut. He tried to scream, but a yellow glove covered his mouth and muffled his voice.
"Not another word," hissed someone from behind him. Suddenly, he was yanked into darkness, and before his brain had time to process the situation, his hands and feet were secured by tight-tied ropes.

Roman was alone, rendered unable to move, and completely, utterly helpless.

Authors note: I hope you liked the first chapter! Sorry for the unsympathetic Deceit, and kind of the other sides as well, but it needed to be done for the sake of the story! I love them all <3
