Chapter 21

●●●

That evening Jungkook was lying sprawled out over Yoongi's bed, finally in proper clothes, meaning a fitting pair of sweatpants and the t-shirt with the paw print. Yoongi was typing away on his laptop, doing homework.

"What is going to university like?" Jungkook asked, lifting his legs into the air and staring at his socks.

"Just... interesting, I guess. School sucks because you have to study whatever the system wants you to, but at university you get more options. It's your choice." Yoongi explained, crossing his legs.

"I don't want you to go back there... you'll leave me alone again." Jungkook pouted, rolling onto his stomach. "I hate it when you're not here... I'm so alone..."

Yoongi sighed and got up from his chair, walking over to Jungkook and sitting down on the edge of the bed. He brought his hand up to run it through Jungkook's hair, who leaned into the touch, sighing contently. "I can't just stay here. Seoul is good place for going to university... this town isn't." He rubbed Jungkook's neck.

Jungkook let out a sound that sounded an awful lot like a whimper and dropped his head back on the bed. "I don't want you to leave. Not again. I just got you back."

A bit hesitant as to how to treat Jungkook when he was like this Yoongi moved his hand down to Jungkook's back, soothingly rubbing it. "I won't leave too soon."

Jungkook shook his head. "Don't want that." When he looked up at Yoongi his eyes were actually wet. Yoongi instantly felt bad. It was his fault that Jungkook was feeling like this.

When Jungkook realized that he was crying he quickly rubbed his eyes. "Sorry. I don't know why..." God, even his voice sounded rough. Yoongi wondered just how much of a toll it had to take on Jungkook. Sure, he himself wasn't really happy about leaving Jungkook behind here, but at least he had Namjoon and Hoseok to talk to and he would be busy with coursework.

Jungkook had nothing to do but wait. He was all alone here.

"You can cry." Yoongi quickly reassured, gesturing Jungkook to scoot over a bit. When he did Yoongi laid down next to him, facing Jungkook. The boy sniffed and rubbed his nose, and even with the current situation Yoongi couldn't help but notice how cute it was.

Yoongi brought his hand up and cupped Jungkook's jaw, rubbing his cheek with his thumb. "We'll come up with something. Don't worry too much about it for now."

Jungkook let out a deep breath before nodding slowly. "I don't want you to be that far away again. Every time... you just said you'd leave and then you were gone and I was alone." Jungkook's lower lip wobbled and Yoongi quickly wrapped his arms around him. Partly because he wanted to help Jungkook and partly because he couldn't stand to see Jungkook cry because of him.

"I won't disappear like that again. I promise." He rubbed Jungkook's back, and suddenly Jungkook started rubbing his cheek against Yoongi's neck. "What are you doing? It feels weird."

Jungkook sighed, suddenly sounding a lot more stable... and tired. "I don't know... it feels good."

Slowly Yoongi dropped his head onto the pillow, allowing Jungkook to do whatever he was doing. After maybe a minute or two Jungkook moved back, finally a little calmer.

Without saying anything he slipped out of the t-shirt he was wearing and shifted back into his wolf form. Yoongi didn't say anything, not wanting to make Jungkook uncomfortable. He seemed vulnerable right now... so he just helped wolf Jungkook out of the sweatpants - which was actually kind of funny - and opened his arms invitingly for Jungkook to cuddle with him.

Jungkook did, lying down on Yoongi's chest with all his weight, but it was manageable. When Yoongi started running his hand through Jungkook's fur the big wolf licked his cheek. Wow, apparently Jungkook had learned how to be polite. But it wasn't the time for that.

"You don't have to hold back. Go wild like you usually do." He knew he was going to regret it but he also knew that it usually made Jungkook happy.

It wasn't something he had to say twice, although he was glad that Jungkook wasn't actually acting as wildly as he usually was, instead licking Yoongi's nose, cheek, ear and finally maybe three times over his lips before moving down to his neck.

Yoongi closed his eyes, simply enjoying Jungkook's proximity. It was weird. Even if Jungkook was human too... having a wolf's fangs right there by his neck should have made him nervous, but instead it made him feel at ease. He felt save. Maybe this was the feeling Jungkook had described... everything about this felt right.

His wolf had turned into a human and Yoongi had just accepted that. Then that wolf had asked to be his boyfriend... and it had felt natural to just say yes. This wasn't like Yoongi. He was really attached to Jungkook.

Even though he had never really believed in that kind of shit he had to admit that 'mates' had a nice ring to it. He rubbed Jungkook's head before pecking his snout. "Let's go to sleep for now. Tomorrow is a day as well... we can think about it then."

Jungkook yawned, making a noise Yoongi translated to yes. "Sleep well."

He was glad Jungkook seemed to have completely calmed down now as he nestled his head against Yoongi's neck again. "Sweet dreams."
