Black Suit Superman

Many Superman were hoping the Man of Steel would have donned the black suit he wore after his resurrection in the famous early 90s Death of Superman comic book storyline in the Justice League movie, as it would have made perfect sense since the previous movie Batman v Superman ended with Doomsday killing Superman, just like in the beginning of the Death of Superman arc. not only that, but at Superman's funeral they show a close-up shot of the silver "S" on the black coffin which was a blatant not to the black costume. and then Henry Cavill himself teased the black suit on his Instagram in 2016, a full year before Justice League hit theatres, but alas when Justice League came out there was no black Suit in the final movie much to the disappointment of many DC fans. but then in 2019, Zack Snyder himself posted concept art of Superman in the black suit on Vero (his social media platform of choice) along with a deleted scene in the Justice League blu-ray showing Cavill stumbling across the black costume in the fortress of solitude thus confirming all the months worth of fan speculation:

but that's just the tip of the iceberg, as in the Snyder cut of Justice League Superman was supposed to wear the black Suit in the final battle against Steppenwolf and was supposed to keep that look for the rest of the film along with the two cancelled Justice League sequels as Snyder planned to have the black suit be part of a long-term character arc for Superman that was excised from the film after Snyder left: that being him having to slowly earn back his classic red and blue colors over the course of his planned Justice League trilogy by proving himself worthy of those colors through being a hero and a symbol of hope.
