Oceanclan

The Clan of the Proud and Adaptable

The founder of Oceanclan was Rising Ocean, a large grey-blue tom with long fur and bright blue eyes. Legend has it Oceanstar was also half deaf. He was the leader of a colony from a far away land, who brought his group to the Land's Star in search of better hunting grounds. When the Twolegs moved onto the territory, rather than run, Oceanstar adapted his clan to coincide with these strange creatures.

Territory:

Oceanclan's homeland features probably some of the most diverse mixture of biomes in the Land's Star. Their territory is mainly made up of a long stretch of beach which extends into the forest towards the south, and the marshland to the west. There is a boardwalk where Oceanclan camps, inhabited by Twolegs mainly during the warmer seasons. They also have a secondary camp within their piece of the Forest Patch where they shelter during the stormy season. Oceanclan share borders with Marshclan and Treeclan and live east of Split Rock

Camp:

Oceanclan's main camp is settled beneath the heart of a boardwalk, where Twolegs rarely dare to venture. Smooth boulders washed in by the ocean long ago sit around camp and make up the dens. Although some Twoleg trash has been recycled into places of shelter as well. A large sand dune sits against a wooden pole. Its called the Mighty Dune and it's where the leader stands and holds meetings/ceremonies. A huge brownish black boulder with a crack in it's center is where the medicine cat lives. The outside is covered in a veil of seaweed, which is changed regularly due to use. The den is actually huge inside and contains smaller cracks within where herbs are stored, and a small well of freshwater which is regularly replenished. Another boulder leans against it, but is a bit smaller. This is where the leader sleeps. On the opposite side of camp lays 2 wide grey boulders which lean against each other. Beneath them in a dugout is the the apprentice's den. A pile of rocks sits close by, resting up against another wooden pole is the warrior's den. A dugout has been carved in the sand to make for more room in there. In the very furthest part of the camp is a broken down car ((I like to imagine it's a mini van)), which is used to house the queens and kits. Queens will often sunbathe on the dashboard, while kits play underneath the seats. The fresh-kill pile is kept beneath it where prey can stay dry. Finally, on the right of the car is a small damaged sail boat which is used to shelter the elders.

Land Marks:

The ocean- a huge body of saltwater where Oceanclan cats frequently fish

Twoleg Settlement Bridge- a boardwalk. Twolegs visit it to prowl (shop and walk) and share prey. They often feed cute Oceanclan cats here

The beach- a sandy area where Oceanclan patrols, sunbathes, train, and sometimes approach visiting twolegs. This land makes up the majority of their territory

Forest Patch- a patch of forest given to Oceanclan by Treeclan to help them keep fed during Leafbare. Its an area often pushed by Oceanclan trying to gain more territory.

Rubble Path- an area along part of the Oceanclan border on Treeclan's side covered in stones which leads the beach owned by Oceanclan. Its an area usually populated by snakes and adders in Greenleaf. It's also an area often fought over by Treeclan and Oceanclan

High Cliff- a cliff which is part of the Oceanclan border. it overlooks a portion of the beach which Oceanclan calls home
