I saw wonder in her petals,
And knew she was the one.
I loved her and cared for her
Even in the scorching sun.
She promised me her beauty,
She gave an oath of her love.
Yet when the chilling frostbite of winter struck,
She left me to my demise.

I never desired your sweet smelling poison.
I swore off love and I swore off heart,
And yet the beauty of the flame
Damned my own.
I stumbled in blind into the lion's den unaware of your fangs,
And like a naive child
Opened my lens to the brilliance of the sun.
Roses have its thorns I shouldn't have forgotten,
Deceitful you were in spirit and soul.

Meadows of love blossoming in the snow,
I entered into your paradise,
I was at bliss.
I laid my sorrows down and embraced your love,
I gave you my breath,
My soul alight on doves.
Yet it seems I'm never able to leave,
I look inwardly and see myself bleed.
I wonder how silver and gold could bleed such bright crimson,
In your embrace I seem to lose myself
blurred vision, a paralyzed motion.
I beheld wondrous gardens and meadows again,
Ah! Not a grove of roses but a den of vipers instead.
