Calum usually observes Ava when she does her workout early in the morning. It has always been his routine, hanging around the kitchen while he gets himself a cup or two of coffee. He sometimes consider it as his alarm clock, if he ever feels like not getting up from the bed or if he needs to do some work in the mornings. Not that he enjoys watching her sweat under the hint of sunlight peeking through the windows, but Ava seems to seek for motivation or support from him if she ever feels like giving up.

But today was different.

Ava wanted him to join her for some activity, and because of that, he came out of his room with a tank top, some basketball shorts with shoes and a hot pink visor that she had enthusiastically gave him to complete the outfit. He looked at his own reflection on the mirror, slightly hesitating on the decisions that he had made for the morning.

But deep in his heart, he knew he was a little bit unbothered by all of this, if it takes him to be in a closer relationship with Ava.

"Come on, Cal. Chop chop!" Ava beamed while clapping her hands, instructing him with the voice that her high school PE teachers used when they want to get things done immediately. Ava loved bossing around Calum, but she loved the fact more that he chose to join in with her workout. She had wanted to do a challenge that's been going around the internet, and she knew it was going to be one hell of a challenge for both of them.

"What are we even doing? And do I really have to wear this disgusting color of a visor?" Calum settled his water jug beside her's as he takes off his visor for the millionth time only to be scolded by Ava more.

"I think the color fits you well, Calum. And of course, we're doing some workout." She smiled while glancing at the laptop she had placed infront of both of their yoga mats. He knelt beside her, squinting his eyes to get a good look of the laptop from the sun that's shining behind him.

Chloe Ting

"No we're not doing that." He laugh while standing up from the wooden floor, running his hand through his hair while walking towards the garden behind them.

It was no doubt that Calum had heard about that workout before. Videos and pictures of it has been going around YouTube and Instagram, with young teenagers and some adults gaining interest on some home excercises during quarantine. Even his bandmates knew about it as well. Luke (who is a big Tiktok person, as what Calum likes to say) wanted to join in the trend, spending hours on convincing the Kiwi to join him and Ashton, being his only hope because Michael was too busy with his video gaming.

But he wasn't too keen for it, as he sadly declined Luke's offer. But that didn't stop Luke and Ashton to send him little clips of them excercising to help him change his mind. Little did he know a few days after that incident he would find himself doing it with Ava.

"What? It's a good ab workout for everyone." Ava laugh, witnessing the playful tantrum that Calum is putting out in the middle of his garden. He ran around, picking up flower petals as he dramatically throw them away and screamed some incoherent words which made her giggle more.

Once he reached closer to her, Ava suddenly got the same sense of confidence she had yesterday. She grabbed him by his arm and pulled him closer to her. Both of their breath hitched while staring right back at each others eyes. But this time, they couldn't look away from each other. It's like their hearts worked like magnets, finding it's way to each other as it's force gets stronger once they get closer. She ran her smoothly from his arms to his shoulder while his hands finds it's way to her waist.

"If you decide to join me for workout, I would be the happiest person in the world." She grinned, tiptoeing in her toes until her height reached his nose. Her eyes directly across his lips, taking the chance to glance it before looking back up to his eyes. Her heart flutters once he beamed his dimple-showing smile before moving his body closer to her.

"Anything for the happiest person in the whole world."

"Hey Luke, Ashton. I just did the Chloe Ting workout!" Calum boasted around like a little kid while he brought his phone to his laptop's camera. He decided to document his workout this morning, not just to show it off to his friends but he wanted to keep memories with Ava in his mind and in his phone.

"Yeah that's what I'm talking about!" Luke laughed, flexing his arms up in the air. Ashton couldn't help but clap like a proud mother, while asking Calum to replay the same video only just to shed more fake tears every time he replayed it.

"It all comes down to you, Michael." Calum smirked as he stared down at the blonde, his arms wrapping around each other after placing his phone down at the table.

"Never would I do some type of stuff like that." Michael vigorously shook his head, his eyes focused towards his other screen, obviously playing a game in the middle of the chat. "And what even made you do that? Is it because of the girl who gave you a boner last night?"

This made all three boys except Calum laugh. He had nothing to do but roll his eyes, seeing he would have to deal with more jokes like this. He expected this, after spending every single FaceTime of the boys talking about Ava. It was Ava here, Ava there, Ava everywhere. It's been a few days and he still hadn't have the balls to ask her out. He became more worried that him being a chicken would not lead to anything between them but friendship.

And he despised the word friendship when it comes to them.

"Come on, Cal. You really need to start making a move or she would fall off from your fingertips too fast like this." Ashton snapped his fingers infront of the camera. He loves Calum so much, but he couldn't help but glare at him everytime he hesitates to make a move on Ava. Every online interview or meeting that they had, he would always see Calum either staring off anything but his camera or sipping his drink once in a while. And he's obviously not oblivious by the fact that he knew what Calum was thinking about.

"You think I would be with Crystal right now even if I didn't make a move on her few years ago?" Calum opened his mouth to say something, only to close it back down.

"You have to go with what your heart wants, Calum. It sucks for me- for all of us to see you assuring us and our fans- and even yourself that you're happy living the single life- yeah, okay with Duke, when you obviously have a fan account that's made for a girl that you've fallen for a few years until now. And as for her feelings, you're forcing yourself into thinking that she doesn't like you at all when you haven't even asked her about it. Yes, it does hurt when you get rejected with your feelings but you know what's worse? Keeping those feelings behind your walls that's gonna slowly eat you up to loneliness. So if I were you, get your ass of that chair and tell her everything you didn't say." Luke let out a breath as he stared back at the Kiwi. Ashton and Michael were both stunned by his sudden outburst but soon replaced it with their nods, implying to agree what Luke had just said.

Calum looked at all the boys until he looks at the wall infront of him that separates both his room and Ava's room. He whispered something before looking back at the boys, mirroring the smiles that they had.

"I'll break that damn wall for her."
