today is a good day
i wash my hands in doubt
i wallow in gardens of green
the sky is painted orange
the sun burned forever

i can't put my finger on it
i missed my laugh
so i chased the sound with you
i rolled around in the colors and the sounds
the trees just might
set an everlasting moment in my mind
i nod my head to the beats
scotty really gets me
he knows the way i grow so
silly and tired
im a wandering soul
so i go where my body knows

my personal heaven
littered with angels and saving graces
some beautiful and relaxed faces
we save the moment when the time stands
we don't regret it

i guess i broke my own bones too
using newness in place of things i already knew
i still respect the moment
though life is a maze
i can't control it
i can't hold it

i just
let life happen to me
nothing is as empty as it seems to be

but no doubt
my insecurity takes a hold of me
it's a free world
free to exist
beyond
fault

so we go on
we go where our souls want us to
beyond fault
or reason

we just exist
because we're meant to
and not to be
belittled or disrupted
by the universe
the universe has got me

may not look like it

but today is a good day
because i lived it the way i wanted to
i felt like myself
im sure of myself
i know myself

so ill
rejoice in self worth
struggling with
things on my plate
or who texts back first

it'll all wash over me in time
in time i will be like the words in my poems
someday
in someway

things feel aligned here
so i drive here
maybe sing a song
maybe die here

but i survived here
thanks to the best people in the universe

and still eventually
they'd all disperse
so i do what a good sinner can
