Chapter 2: Return

Nolgian: Joey's POV
Today marks the tenth year that she's been gone. She was taken right in front of me and I did nothing to save her. It should've been me who was taken away not her. Joey thought, lost in thought he stared at the water watching his reflection.

Joey stood next to lake in his wolf form, the little weak cub turned into a mighty wolf with a fierce look. Dominance can be sensed while looking at the wolf, but at the moment, grief was all that can be felt. 10 years ago, Joey was taken to a bunch of healers, when he came through he found out that you were abducted. He swore his loyalty to the Gaia kingdom and swore he would not stop looking for you. But no one could find you whatsoever, it was like you vanished.

???: "Joey?"

Joey sighed and turned to face a sprite that had his hair up in spikes that were purple and black ,with golden bangs to frame his face, and milky pale skin.

"Yea Yugs?" The wolf replied, he could see the concern in his friends eyes that were a beautiful Amethyst color.

Yugi was prince of Voda, the water kingdom. After Princess Kisara's rebellion that led to her death and her mother's....Yugi's mom, the King's second mate inherited the throne. With Yugi being his only child, he became the next in line to ascend the throne. It didn't matter as he was still the prince regardless.

"Joe you know you could help what happened to Princess Y/N" The Prince said as he flew to sit in the wolf's shoulder.

The Prince knew the story but Joey was only a Pup! He met the wolf on the day of your disappearance as the event called the attention of all three kingdoms. Since then he remained by Joey's side and watch as the guilt ridden wolf take on the responsibility of becoming the Alpha, as well as keeping his promise to search for you.

Joey shook his head, "You don't get it Yug, she was my best friend and she sacrificed her life for mine"

"Yugi is right Joey, even though I understand how you may feel, you can't continue on like this" A deep baritone voice said up in the trees.

"I swore till I die I will find Y/N even if it kills me Atem!" Snapped the werewolf as he stared to a pair of crimson eyes that belonged to Atem.

Suddenly the eyes were right in front of the werewolf. However, the werewolf didn't even flinch. Sighing Atem flew and sat down next to Yugi, who leaned into his shoulder. The two could pass as brothers but they were anything but related to each other. Atem being his regal name with his real name being Yami, had tanned toned skin, spiky hair like Yugi's that were crimson and black, and gold bangs.

Atem was the Leben Prince who was mated to Yugi. The Leben Royals can mate with the Voda Royals and Gaia Royals, but for some reason Voda and Gaia Royals have yet to mate with one another despite their citizens being able to do so.

Atem leaned back settling his sharp glare on a pair of sharp blue eyes that was sitting on a branch on the same tree Atem descended from.

"Are you going to say something to him Seto? He is your mate"

The man named Seto scoffed, making his short brown hair swish at the side.

"We've been through this before, nothing is getting through that mutts thick skull"

Despite his harsh words, Seto's gaze soften while watching his upset mate who would normally snap back with a witty remark. Seto was a normal water sprite that mated with Joey when Atem dragged him to meet Yugi as they had just mated. Joey happened to be in the area and the bond was formed when the two interlocked gazes. It was also the beginning of the friendship that the gang shared.
