chapter 4: an unforgettable experience

"Jennie-ssi!" Jungkook yelled frustratedly, before quickly glancing around, making sure that no one had heard him.

He covered his mouth and lowered his volume this time, so much so that Jieun couldn't hear a single word he was saying. Jieun, stretching her neck out and still being unable to hear a single thing, eventually gave up. She dashed into the toilet, and quickly cleared her bladder, before peeking outside once more.

What was going on? Jennie? As in... Jennie Kim? That was his girlfriend, wasn't it? Why was he yelling at her, and... why did he sound so formal when speaking to her?

Jieun peered out of the toilet once more, noticing to her relief that Jungkook was still there, pacing back and forth and still on the phone. Jieun's eyes lit up as she thought of the idea of filming him, and immediately whipped out her phone.

"Anyway, I'm telling you not to contact me if it's not necessary, you hear me?" Jungkook said fiercely, but took note of keeping his volume down, even though there was no one in sight. "I'm busy, I'm gonna hang up now."

"Urgh-" Jieun groaned as she looked down at the video she had managed to record. The video didn't manage to show that it was Jennie he was talking to, and his tone had seemed much gentler as compared to before. It was nothing interesting - definitely not headline worthy, for sure. Maybe they had just gotten into a small argument or something - they were a couple after all, so that was understandable.

Jieun sighed as she turned the other way, ready to head back to look for Hoseok and Chungha... when there was a sudden shriek from behind.

"Jungkook-oppa!"

"Hyung! Jungkook-hyung! I'm your biggest fan!"

"See? I told you I saw him here!"

"Oppa! JK-oppa!"

"Oppa~! Look over here! Look at me! Oppa!"

Jieun swirled around at once, her eyes wide open. From 100 metres away, from the opposite end of the lobby, a crowd of around 20 to 30 over screaming fans charged towards Jungkook. The crowd was mostly made up of girls, but a couple of fanboys was scattered into the mix. To add on to Jieun's horror, Jungkook was already running towards her, away from his rabid fans.

There was only one question in Jieun's mind - where on earth was his manager?

Jieun locked eyes with Jungkook at that very moment. He flailed his arms wildly, signalling for Jieun to move out of the way, but somehow... she couldn't. Jieun looked down at her feet that were planted into the ground. She glanced up at Jungkook as he came closer and closer, before looking down once more, desperately trying to lift her legs and move to one side... but no matter how she tried-

Bang! Ping!

Jungkook bumped into Jieun at that very moment, his shoulder hitting her hard in the shoulder because of how narrow the corridor was. Jieun looked down at her phone that dropped to the ground... completely smashed.

"Ya!" Jieun yelled as she grabbed onto Jungkook's sleeve, pulling him back before he could run any further. "Jeon Jungkook!"

"What?" Jungkook glanced down at Jieun, trying to pry her fingers off his sleeve as he glanced up at his overenthusiastic fans running closer and closer towards them. "What do you want? My autograph? I'll give it to you!"
