rita fletcher knows she presents herself as her dad's worst nightmare. single parenting is bad enough, and her dad's done well for himself -- well enough for him to retire early, relocating from maine to outer banks, the so called 'best place on earth', an ideal spot for mark's early retirement. except rita's... well, frankly, rita's rita. three months into their new life and she's established herself a group of ragtag friends, gathered a handful of enemies, and is setting sail (literally) for an eventful summer.
rita fletcher knows she's heralded as jj's worst nightmare, too: unable to surf, sharp-tongued, quick-witted, and, most of all, a kook in sheep's clothing. except out of all the things he hates, he loves to hate her the most.
