《B E A U T Y    L I E S》

- - -

I have a garden,
Of flowers galore.
Littered with shades,
And different hues.
Oh so beautiful,
So delicate they are.

My precious flowers,
A wonder to the eyes.
They stand so tall,
An ethereal beauty.
One would obviously assume,
The uniqueness that drapes them all.

To the naked eye,
Or a lost wanderer,
My garden is a place of pure bliss.
A gated haven,
Where darkness is banished.

If only they would look closer,
Peer beneath the petals.
Finger the soft pleats,
Look beyond their entrancing nature.
They would see the dancing dark,
Terrifying veins of nightmares.
Illuded colours,
False smiles and broken hearts.

Screaming souls,
Reaching for freedom.
They would see the demon,
That lies beneath them all.
Sucking the life,
Preying on innocence.

A curse that cannot be reversed,
The time that was lost.
And the years,
That lay unfulfilled.
Beauty lies,
All you have to do is close those eyes.
