Qibli looked at his arm in anticipation. Why hadn't she answered! It's been a week now.
Two days later...
Will she ever reply? Or will she find someone else? He shivered at that last thought. Suddenly Thorn, his adopted mother, shouted up at him. 'Qibli, It's time! Time for your first day as a high schooler!' Qibli ran down the stairs and into the arms of his mother. She laughed and said, 'Try not to get beaten up, okay?' Qibli nodded and ran out the door. That's when he felt the marker.
He had thought that he would never feel the cool touch of the marker ever again. He pulled back the sleeve of his favorite hoodie and gasped at what he saw.
