Arlo's POV

Tuesday.

My 30th Birthday.

I woke up early, mainly because I didn't sleep that well last night. I saw 5am on my phone and sighed lying there for around 5 minutes before sitting up. I was dreading what they had planned for me today. I got out of bed and got dressed in light trackies and a t-shirt. My phone buzzed, it was Keane:

YOU UP? WANNA GO FOR A RUN? MEET ME DOWNSTAIRS IN 5 X

"Morning," he beamed at me, I was waiting for the happy birthday but it never came.

   "Your chirpy for 5.30am,"

"I can be an early bird when I need too,"

We left the house and began a slow jog.

"Were you really awake, or did you get up especially because you knew I wouldn't be asleep?" I asked,

"I couldn't really sleep, and I took a chance you'd be up," he said, I knew he was lying. I knew the size of his heart, but I was also grateful.

We went further than we did a few days a go and it was such a release.

"Thank you," I said once we'd got back home.

   "For what?" he asked confused,

"For running with me,"

"It's my favourite part of the day," He winked and I chuckled. "Catch you on the flip side," he said heading off upstairs. When I got to my room I checked my phone and felt somewhat disappointed that Dad hadn't sent me a happy birthday. Even though I was the one who kept saying I didn't want any fuss or any surprises. I had a shower and got changed before heading downstairs,

"Morning Arley," Noah said as I entered the kitchen,

    "Morning," I smiled,

"Eggs?" Angelo asked, "And of course good morning," I smiled at him,

"Yes please and good morning Angelo," Keane and Tayte came next, Tayte saluted me, "Is that a good morning?" I asked,

"Yes," he chuckled, "Good run?"

   "It really was," I replied,

"You two are mental," Noah said, sitting down,

"I overslept, I was meant to be making breakfast today," Auntie said flouncing in, "Morning darlings,"

"Morning Auntie," we replied,

"Don't worry Auntie, Chef Lolo is on it," Noah answered,

"Is the coffee brewing?" Keane asked,

"Yes, I'm in charge," Noah replied,

"Oh dear Lord," Keane teased and he stuck his tongue out at him.

"Morning peeps? What's for breakfast?" Arii announced as she and Leo came in,

"Angelo is making eggs," Tayte said,

"Sounds good," Leo said, "Protein," and we all rolled our eyes.

So around 10 minutes later we sat down to poached eggs on avocado on ciabatta and it was a good birthday breakfast. Even though you wouldn't know it was my birthday. After that everyone went their separate ways, so I headed up to write.
