Chapter Twelve: Coma

Alex's pov:

It's been two weeks. Riley has 3 broken ribs and her whole body badly bruised. She's also got her wrist broken.

I haven't left Riley's side. The nurses even allow me to sleep on the chair as long as I don't disturb anyone in the hospital when I leave the room to go to the bathroom.

I'm laying here on the chair next to Riley. She looks to peaceful and then her heart monitor goes off.

I run out the room and go to the desk.

"It's Riley, her hearts stopped" I state

Then she dials and number and says a code.

Soon there was about 3 doctors and 4 nurses in the room and I had to wait outside in the waiting room. I called Mary and my dad and they rushed to the hospital.

"What's wrong?" Mary asks me instantly

"Her heart stopped" I say. My heart breaking as I speak those words.

The doctor walks out to us and looks sad "I'm very sorr-" he starts

"Doctor! She's back, she looks like she might be waking up" a nurse calls out

Me and Mary and my dad stand up on high alert.

We hear cheers from the room. The doctor came back to us "We thought she was gone, but no she's come back but this time she woke up from the coma" he explains

Mary gives me a hug. I hug her back and dad joins in too.

"When can we see her?" I ask

"Not for long but tonight and I advise one at a time. She's gone through a lot."

Mary goes in first, then my dad, and lastly I do.

I walk in and see her laying there her eyes closed. As she hears my footsteps she opens her eyes.

"Oh Riley. I am so sorry. I need you to know she kissed me not the other way round. I looked for you for hours and hours. My heart kept breaking the more you were gone. I didn't know what you were going through. Ellie is currently held at a police station, the police will probably want to talk to you" I say

She smiles "You always have so much to say. But I know everything now. I also was in a coma but I heard everything. I got something for you" she says

"Ri, you just woke up from a coma how can you have something for me?" I ask in disbelief

"The phone I had recorded something that you may ought to hear" she says

I sit down and pass the phone out of the draw. She clicks a few buttons and plays.

"Wanna know a secret?Alex wasn't the one who killed Rebecca (the ex's new girl) I did. Alex only hurt her with the knife, the week she was suppose to come out was my chance to keep Alex for myself so I went to the hospital and unplugged her heart support. Then watched her die...slowly"

Ellie's voice says.

"What? All these years I thought and it was- what a bitch. What else do you have on there?" I ask

"Just what she was saying to me and you can probably make out what she was doing" I say

"Time to go" My dad says

I kiss Riley on the forehead and say "Good night. I'll see you in a few hours.
Riley's pov:

So it's currently the 2nd day I've been up from the coma. And my body is still hurting but not as much.

*knock knock*

"Come in"

Mum, Henry and Alex walk in.

"Good morning sweetie, how you feeling?" My mum asks

"Better" I reply

"Good. So there's something you don't know and you probably should." Mum starts "We know you and Alex are dating. But me and Henry are also dating"

What?! I knew something was up.

"But-" I say

"It's okay. You can still date each other because basically you're not biologically related to me" Henry says

I smile and Alex holds my hand.

"Anyway we will leave you two alone for a bit" My mum says walking out with Henry.

"Riley, I know this isn't the right place to ask but I can't wait any longer" Alex states

"It's okay you can ask" I say

"Riley Moore, will you make me the happiest girl on planet earth and marry me?" Alex's asks as she pulls out a little box with a ring inside.

Woah

I sit up "Oh my, Alex, but what about-"

"Don't worry, I've talked to our parents and they are more than happy as long as it's what we want. We just have to wait till you're 18 witch I heard is in 2 months and then we can get married" Alex explains "So what do you say? Will you marry me?"

"Oh Alex yes! Of course!" I say and she puts the ring on me

After about a week I was aloud out the hospital. Ellie was being delt with, I gave the police the recording. Me and Alex were planning our wedding slowly.

Honestly these past couple of weeks have been hectic. I lost my best friend and boyfriend but gained a fiancé, I also got a dad now.

Life couldn't be more perfect.
