Johnny and Ponyboy talk when Johnny wakes up. _____________________

"Come on Johnny wake up," Ponyboy said as Johnny lay silent and still in the hospital bed. He looked so peaceful, but Ponyboy knew otherwise. He knew that he was fighting an eternal battle. Suddenly, Johnny's eyes opened. It was small at first, but then they were wide open. Ponyboy looked up from where he was staring at the floor and saw Johnny's eyes opened.
"Hi," Johnny said. Ponyboy smiled.
"You're awake."
"That I am," he said, then looked down. "You can stop holding my hand you know."
Johnny blushed red and pulled his hand away. "S-sorry," he said. Johnny laughed a little, but winced when he felt how it hurt.
"I'm just kidding," he said, reaching for Ponyboy's hand again. He clasped it tightly. "How long have I been out?"
