"Pain" how easy is it to say this word?

I know, it's easy for you. A word like the rest of the words.

 So simple, so indifferent.

But I know that this word has a special place in your heart.

I also know it's in the darkest place in it.

And don't try to dissuade me because I was there.

I've been there all those years when you said the word.

It was a pain when you broke your arm at 7.

It was a pain when you giving cigarettes to your friends,

even though you knew it would kill them.

It was a pain when you sold the drugs to your best friend, who passed away because of you.

It was a pain when you found out about your grandmother's incurable illness.

It was a pain to watch your poor grandmother fight death.

It was a pain when you realized you were helpless with death.

It was a pain to see her lying dead on the hospital bed.

And now, you see how difficult it is for you to pronounce this word,

even though it is as bland and as pale as the rest of them.
