My day started like every other Saturday morning I had practice. I woke up at eight o' clock. I went on the computer and checked mt Cafe World. I always do this to make sure that my food didn't spoil. At 8:17 I got into the shower and got out around 8:24. I ate breakfast - delicious yolk egg, freshly made fried potatoes, buttery toast, and yummy sausage links - and went to my room to warm up my voice. I alwayssang before practice. My mom told me it was time to go at around 9:45. It took us fifteen minutes to get there because of the harsh traffic. When we got there, right in time at ten o' clock, we had to do a little paperwork before we could begin. When everyone was done it was time for the singers to show off the songs they have chosen to do. I was first to go with people staring at me with anticipating eyes.
I just opened my mouth, about to sing 'The Only Exception'. My life was changed once I saw that blinding light. It filled the entire room and made everyone disoriented. It was difficult to know what happened because I was blown to the wall behind me, and hit my head...hard. All I heard was the noise of breaking concrete. I thought the hotel was going to fall and crush everyone in it, but I guess the hotel was well-developed because it did not fall yet. I acted fast because bits and peices of crumbled concretewere starting to fall all around us. I wanted everyone to be safe, so I told them to go outside and away from the hotel. We were all suprised by the destruction of glass from the windows. Some of the glass was stuck into the wall; some was even melted onto the wall. Some of the walls were even blown out. The walls started to waver, and everyone ran through a hole in the wall. We came to the parking lot just to be met with more terror. We all stopped in our tracks. We couldn't believe our eyes. If you saw this picture, you would think horrow movie. I was actually living this. Paint was burned off cars. Whatever this was (I thought atomic bomb) left the cars nude. Trees and shrubs were burnt to a crisp. Death and destruction was everywhere; life was nowhere to be found. I didn't hear birds chirping. There was no wind, but the cries of the dieing floated in the air. They cried out for help. I felt useless for the first time.
"Everyone must go somewhere safe. You have to get out of here. Mom, please go to Carly's, but if it starts to look worse, head back home or in the opposite direction. And, please, take the others with you, too. I love you. I need to go make sure Chris is okay," I said with worry written all over my face and voice.
"Okay, you be safe, too. I love you so much. Meet me at Carly's if you do not come home. Come on guys, follow me." My mom kissed me and led the others to safety.
Once they left, I ran back inside the hotel and tried to save the people I could before it fell. It didn't take long for me to get out five people. Two were injured, the others not at all. I felt terrible though because in five minutes I could only save five peple before the hotel fell into pebbles.
After I was finished with that I just ran for my life to go find Chris. As I ran past all the buildings, most crumbled into nothingness, I got scared. I started to think negatively. I was thinking that Chris's house fell with the others.
Trees and shrubs that were originally ther and green were now black and nothing but ash. Nothing made me feel joy. I saw people that were in their cars at the moment of the mysterious flash, but I couldn't tell who it was. Mostly everything, and eeryone, that was outside was ash. It made me run faster, faster than I have ever ran.
