The tea that was once steaming and spreading its leafy smell through the air got cold long ago. Quite sadly it stood there, barely even touched, on the corner of the table. Smallest dust motes settled on the tea's surface and twirled around, slow and steady, the only things in this room still moving.
At least it seemed like it. In reality, there was a pair of arms next to the mug, fingers dug into the soft fabric of the blue sweater covering them and head resting atop of said arms. The boy's breathing was the only other movement in this room. Well, that and maybe his eyelids wich flickered open and close every now and then.

Jisung couldn't sleep and it was agonizing. A few hours ago, Chan and he were the last people in this dorm that were still up and it was already late back then. Jisung had made him tea and told Chan to hit the bed soon, the beats or lyrics or whatever he was working on again would still be there by tomorrow and poured a mug of tea for himself.

He had only taken some small sips from it which immediately burned his tongue so he decided to let it cool down a bit but then he forgot completely about it. What a sad fate.

Jisung had already tried lying down in his bed, counting his breaths, listening to an audiobook or calming rain sounds but nothing had worked. After a while, he wasn't even able to stay in a lying position for longer than a few seconds anymore, so he decided to just ditch the bed and went over to his desk.

Shrouded in complete darkness, as it was a pretty cloudy night, he sat there now. One of his arms had already went numb but he didn't care. Tiredness had crept up his limbs and bones and settled in them but somehow his mind was still wandering around.

Jisung physically felt tired and exhausted, that wasn't the problem, but his mind just couldn't seem to unwind and rest. He hoped if he would just sit still for long enough, he could trick his mind to think he actually slept and rested for a while and he wouldn't feel too tired tomorrow. So he sat there now, taking one breath after the other, everyone feeling like it made time run even slower and stretching out the seconds.

Jisung swallowed, the first sound in a long time and slowly unwound his arms. They felt way heavier than they actually were. He reached for his phone, it's screen was so bright that if he actually had some sleepiness in him it must have dislodged it.

Jisung didn't really know what made him believe that this one person would still be up but he had a feeling inside him. Fate and all, remember? So he pressed the "Call", button and brought the phone up to his ear, too tired to actually care too much.

"Jisung?", a quite familiar voice asked.

"Lee Know - Hyung.", Jisung just mumbled back. "Why so surprised?"

"Have you taken a look at the time?", Lee Know's voice sounded soft, maybe even a bit rough. Had Jisung woken him up?

"Actually not really no. Whenever I can't sleep I try not to look at the time, it's quite...discouraging.", Jisung was back at resting his head on his arms, at least on the one that wasn't holding his phone. He picked on his sweater sleeve.

"You can't sleep?", Lee Know's voice still sounded so soft, it caused a warm feeling inside Jisung.

"Why else would I still be up?"Jisung tiredly smiled, something on the other line shuffled. "I didn't wake you up though, did I?", he asked Lee Know. That would be...well that would be kinda embarrassing, maybe Jisung should think the next time he just calls someone out of the blue.

"No, no you didn't.", Lee Know assured him. "Are you alright? Or is it just the sleep that you can't get?", Jisung's small smile grew. Someone seemed to care about him.

"I don't really think there's something else. I'm actually really tired but I just can't seem to fall asleep.", he huffed, allowing his eyes to fall shut again.

"I'm sorry for you, not being able to fall asleep really sucks.", Jisung nodded, aware that the other couldn't see him.

"Mh, thank you. But sorry for calling you that late.", Lee Know just laughed at that.

"You kind of have every right to call me, considering how late I called you last time.", Jisung smiled again as he remembered it. Why was he smiling all this freaking time?

"Right, that was when I was actually training with all my friends and you just called me out of the blue.", Lee Know made an "Mhm"-sound in agreement.

"Yes, exactly like you did just now.", Jisung just gave in and let the smile stay on his lips. Lee Know made him smile, who cares? There was no one here to see him anyway.

"You know what I thought of?", he asked.

"Of what?", Lee Know answered just as soft as Jisung had asked.

"Fate kind of did us dirty the last weeks.", with his eyes closed and grinning like an idiot, Jisung thought of the times they met.

"No kissing in the back of clubs, no walking on the riverside and no meeting on top of buildings watching the sweet sunset. Hm, I think you're right.", Lee Know said and spoke out the exact things that Jisung was thinking about.

"And no meeting in small convenience stores.", he added.

"Damn." Lee Know said. "I think I have to summon that demon that I sold my soul to again and have a serious conversation with them.", the remark made Jisung chuckle.

"So you admit that you actually were the one who sold their soul."

"Yeah, whatever. Maybe I did, maybe I sacrificed a virgin. Nobody knows.", Jisung chuckled again.

"Damn, Lee Know-Hyung, what did those virgins ever do to you?", Jisung wasn't really sure if their conversation made him more or less tired.

"Oh, you'd like to know, wouldn't you?", Lee Know teased him.

"Shut up.", Jisung whined, still amused though.

"Well, I gotta admit that summoning a demon is a lot of work though. I guess there would be another way to be a step ahead of fate.", Jisung frowned, not playing with his sleeve anymore.

"And that would be?", that warm feeling inside him suddenly grew cold and then warm again, he didn't really know what he felt.

"Jisung, would you like to go out with me?", he - wait - what?

"As in ...", Jisung meant to say 'date' but his courage left him the last moment. Instead, he said "As in going out-going out?", he mentally slapped himself. 'Going out-going out?' What the fuck Jisung? Lee Know just found it amusing.

"Yes, as in going out-going out.", he laughed.

"I-", Jisung cleared his throat. Pull yourself together you stuttering fool, godammit. "I'd love to go out-go out with you Lee Know-Hyung.", okay, that actually was quite smooth. Jisung felt Lee Know smile on the other side of the line.

"I'd love to, too. Jisung. See you in, hm... two days?", that was such a specific number but Jisung just agreed.

"See you in two days.", Jisung's grin was already hurting his cheeks and he heard Lee Know chuckle.

"Goodnight Jisung, I hope you're able to fall asleep.", his voice sounded warm and soft again and it reminded Jisung of his cozy bed and suddenly his tiredness was almost unbearable.

"Goodnight Lee Know."

Ayy, a little bit of fluff for you:)

Also, they're going on a date!!!!

I really like writing conversations between characters and seeing where it leads me
(I don't really plan out their convos), whether it is ships or just 'normal' couples.

What do you prefer? More action(you know what I mean lmao) between a couple or more conversation?

Then - as always - stay safe and I'm out.
