SOULMATES (#1)

CHAPTER 14

I turned around to see who was there but Xanir was standing at the door so I couldn't see. And suddenly Drake's head popped from behind Xanir and he said waving his hand, "Hi, Alveera." And I smiled and said 'hi' to him. He pushed Xanir away from the door and came and sat at the table beside me. I offered him breakfast but he said that he already had it.

"You are looking beautiful", he complimented and I looked down at myself to see that I was only wearing a simple pyjama and a t-shirt, anyways I thanked him.

"Do you want me to call Lisa and tell her that you are flirting with Alveera", Xanir said as he came from behind looking completely exasperated and I couldn't help but chuckle at them.

"Come on bro, I am just complimenting her", Xanir rolled his eyes.

"What do you want, why are you here?", Xanir asked rudely.

"Well, I tried calling you several times in the morning but you were not picking up my calls, I thought something happened to you, so I came to check", Drake explained.

"As you have seen me, you can leave now."

"Oh of course, you don't value me anymore since you have her with you", Drake said dramatically pointing towards me as he got up and Xanir punched him in the stomach and I was actually enjoying all this, I was laughing at them.

Xanir whispered something to him after which he walked back to the door and he waved me goodbye and even winked at me which Xanir definitely noticed cause he was glaring at him.

"I am definitely calling Lisa now", Xanir shouted but he only laughed in response and closed the door.

Xanir came back to the table still angry and found me chuckling at them and he also glared at me which didn't make a difference cause I started laughing more.

"You both act like kids", I said controlling my laughter.

"He was flirting with you and you are laughing."

"So what, I liked it." Now he bacame dead serious and it did scare me. He came to me and whispered huskily in my ears, "You better not forget that you are mine." It really sent a shiver down my spine. When he told me that for the first time, I thought he was saying just like that but this time he sounded more serious.

I akwardly stood up and keeping my plate in the sink I walked back upstairs, I still had some more things to pack.

In the evening when I went to his room he was not there, maybe he went for training, I thought.
Later, I got his message saying that he would be late, so I had the dinner alone but now it was getting really late, it was going to be one in the morning and he was still not home and I was worried like hell.

I was about to call Drake but I heard the car's engine, so I immediately went to the door and found Drake and Xanir together, Xanir looked drunk?
Drake released his hold from him and he stumbled a bit before he stood straight.

"He is bit drunk and he is talking nonsense so don't listen to him", Drake whispered to me which Xanir heard cause he shouted, "I am not talking nonsense, you are talking nonsense." Saying that he started walking upstairs to his room.

"Thanks for bringing him", I told Drake but he started laughing which caused me to raise a brow at him.

"You sound like a responsible wife right now." Okay...that's weird.

"He is my friend and I do...care for him, that's it", I said.

"He is my friend too, Alveera but I don't know whether he is 'just a friend' for you or not", he said with a smirk.

"What do you mean?"

He came close to me and whispered in my ears, "Do you like him?" My eyes widen at his question, I love him but I can't tell that to Drake.

"I will take your silence as 'yes'", his smirk getting wider.

"Are you leaving or you want me to throw you out", I yelled at him and laughing he went away.

I went upstairs to Xanir's room to find him sitting on a chair in the balcony. I went to him and leaned against the railing. He looked really sad.

"You are leaving tomorrow?", he asked and I nodded in response.

"I will be alone again", he added and at that moment I felt bad for him.

"You will not be alone Xanir, you have Drake and your parents in this city only, you can go to them whenever you want", I tried assuring him.

"But everyday when I will come to this house, there won't be anyone." Before I could say anything he added, "I will miss you."

I felt like crying, I never expected him to say that. I wanted to hug him but if I would do that then I will definitely cry.

"I will miss you too, Xanir", I told him, "It's getting late, you should sleep."

I started to walk back but he suddenly said, "I want to kiss you, Alveera." What is he saying?

He stood up and came and stood in front of me and I said, "Xanir, you are drunk, you should sleep." Saying that I quickly came back to my room. What is wrong with him?

In the morning I gave my room one last look. I already had breakfast and Xanir was acting really weirdly, he was ignoring me, maybe because what he said last night. The only thing he said to me was that he won't be able to drop me at the airport instead his driver would be dropping me.

I was about to move out of the house and he stood there at the door lost in his own world, I said goodbye to him and started walking towards the car when I realised that he didn't even say goodbye to me, so I turned around and went back to him and stood infront of him with my arms folded.

"So, you will not even say bye to me?", I questioned him and he didn't say anything and it really hurted me.

"So we are back to that cold, arrogant Xanir, fine do as you wish." And with that I turned around angrily only to be pulled back by him and the next thing that I know is that he kissed me!!

He kissed me passionately and my knees became numb and I was about to fall but he held me by my waist, I gave in and kissed him back. After a minute maybe he realised what he was doing and he suddenly pulled back, we couldn't make eye contact with each other. I immediatelycomposed myself and hurriedly went and sat in the car and the tears that I was trying to hold back started falling down my cheeks.

I held my face in my hands and cried my heart out, I love you Xanir and I will miss you like hell.
