I was freaking out yet excited at the same time.
I was lesbian?!?
So many questions were running through my mind.
Will my friends and family accept me?
Will I ever find a girl?
Am I actually going to hell?
I started to breathe heavily and my parents looked at me funny.
"Holly? Is everything okay?" Clark asked.
I didn't say anything. I just sat there, wide eyed, a million thoughts jumping around in my head.
After a few minutes I snapped back into reality.
Before my mom or stepdad could say anything more about the situation, I got up and ran to my room.
I slammed my door out of anger and fear.
How could my parents have made Jake break up with me? Why couldn't they be normal and just say 'I don't like that boyfriend of yours. I think you two should break up.' Or something like that.
This was just plain evil of them to do.
I would never be able to forgive them.
I heard a knock on my door but didn't say anything.
I was too upset.
Suddenly a voice rang through the door.
It wasn't my mom or stepdad...
It was my best friend Jessica!
I ran to my door and opened it with the slightest bit of happiness I had left.
"Hey Holly! I heard about what happened and I came here ri-"
"Thank you so much Jess! This means so much."
Jess prefers me to call her by her actual name, Jessica, but since I'm her best friend, I like to annoy her by calling her Jess or Jessie.
We met each other in one of those stupid summer camp things while we were playing hide and seek.
I was the one that had to count and find everyone else and Jess was the first person I found.
For some reason, when I found her, hidden a bit too obviously behind a pine tree, we clicked right away.
On the last day of camp, Jess gave me her home phone so that we could keep in contact.
I called her everyday until we finally made plans to meet each other again for a sleepover.
It was my first sleepover ever.
It was so exciting!
Soon after that I found out that Jess was moving to my neighbourhood and that she would be transferring into my school.
It was possibly the happiest news I've ever gotten.
"You are coming to my place. Whether you like it or not." Jessie exclaimed.
Her short brown hair was in her eyes, like usual, and she was wearing a baggy sweater.
She was such a tomboy.
I loved how she expresses herself without any fear of what others might think.
I wish I was more like her.
"Can't wait!" I replied to her sleepover statement.
"Great! Let's go get some sleepover supplies. Junk food, pop, tissues, chick flicks. Whatever you want."
Before I could reply, she took my arm and dragged me out the front door.
