It was 11pm, and I had just settled into my hotel room for the night. After wiping off my make-up and throwing my curled hair into a ponytail, I slipped on my sleep shorts and a hoodie and settled into bed.
I grabbed the TV remote and as I scrolled through random channels, I reflected on the band's first day in New York. After our arrival at our temporary hotel, the lads had an hour or so to get settled in, which was time I took to unpack myself and refresh my look before we head out for the day. I accompanied the boys to their first radio interview to promote their world tour, but once they settled in, I left to have lunch with a few of my friends.
See, before Niall scooped me up into his maddening world of music, private jets and handsome lads, I had a NYC apartment to myself and friends and family who lived only a bridge away in New Jersey. Being able to stop in New York before taking off on tour was one of the biggest blessings I could have asked for. I grabbed lunch with a good friend of mine, Julia, and all she could talk about was my crazy new life.
"So, how's the hospital been? Did they finally take you off of night shifts?"
Julia glared at me from her side of the cute, rustic table we were seated at. Her chocolate brown hair was a bit shorter than I remembered, and straight as a pin. But her make-up looked as flawless as usual with her winged eye liner and signature red lip. "Seriously? You want to talk about my job right now? I haven't seen you in weeks and you wanna talk about the hospital?"
I kept myself from giggling at her thick, Jersey accent I had missed so much. Instead, I shrugged as I stuck my fork into my salad. "Look, I know I suck and haven't been around in a while and I promise I'll answer all of your questions. But seriously, I want to know about your life as well."
Julia rolled her green eyes. "In that case, yes, they took me off of night shifts. FINALLY," she said in a monotone voice. "Now spill, girl! Enough about me!"
I laughed, and dived into telling her all about the shenanigans that the band had been up to. I told her about Niall's karaoke night in his underwear, and how Louis and I had to drive to a random parking lot where Harry was stranded because he accidentally locked his keys in his car.
With a laugh, Julia added, "OMG, you know Louis was always my favorite?"
I couldn't help the smile come over my face. "Really? You were a Louis girl? I would have begged you for being into Niall for some reason."
"Louis has the blue eyes and thin lips, right?"
"Yupp, that's him."
Julia looked out the window and smirked. Looking back at me, she said, "Oh yeah. I'm a Louis girl."
We both bursted into laugher. "Is there any chance... nah, never mind."
"What's up, Jul? You know I'd do anything for you," I said. I took a sip of the sweet iced tea I had ordered with my salad.
"Well it's nothing serious. I was just going to ask if, maybe, I don't know... Would I be able to meet them, maybe? If it's not too much to ask?"
A small smile came over me. "Absolutely."
I was forced out of my thoughts when my hotel door opened out of no where. Before I could react, I reach over and grabbed my phone, fearful that I would need to call 911.
When I saw Liam's face round the corner, I immediately let out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
"Liam, what the hell?" I yelled. I threw my phone back on my bed in frustration.
"Hi, love. How's it going? We missed you at dinner," he stated with a smile and hopped up on my bed.
"Seriously? Liam I thought you were a murderer coming in to kill me or something."
