"Blacky" Allie and Kain shout in unison as I walk through the door. I give them them a side hug and hurry upstairs to avoid my mom. I don't wanna talk right now I wanna pick out my outfit for the party. I know it's not tell Friday but I like to plan ahead.

As I reach my room I hear my mom hollering up at me.
"So how was it?"
"Okay" I replied making my way back downstairs.
"Make friends?"
"Mom I'm 17 not 10 sure I talked to people, but I didn't give them best friend bracelets."
"Well then." she mumbled
"Sorry I'm just tired, tomorrow is volleyball tryouts and I've been nervous."

Volleyball is one of my favorite sports. I've played since I was 7. Along with many others but this was my favorite besides basketball.
"You'll do fine, and I got this for you while I was shopping today"
She hands me an oversized maroon colored knit sweater and some under armor leggings, I'd been asking her to get me for a while.
"Thanks" I grab my purse off the bar stool and grabbed my wallet to pay her back.

After my shower I decided to go straight to bed. I usually stay on my phone but I needed sleep.

•••••

I hear the annoying sound I dread every morning.
"5:30, ugh" I mumbled under my breath.

I dressed in spandex under my Nike shorts and a tee shirt. I grabbed my clothes I would change into, my straightener and other toiletries.

I go downstairs and grab some oatmeal.

"Hey girl" I hear my dad say in a very sleepy voice.

"Hey"

"Why are you up so early?"

"Volleyball"

"Oh good luck I know you'll do good." As I put my oatmeal in the microwave I hear my dads music playing very low on the mp3. He starts to sing along and I laugh. He's always had a love for 90's music.

I finish eating and put my bowl in the sink, then turn to the cabinet and grab a water and protein bar.

"Bye dad" I call to him on the couch.

When I get to volleyball I see a familiar face, from the crowd of seniors yesterday, must be Kamryn or Carly was it?

Throughout volleyball we did basic things. I got along with Carly, yes Carly not Kamryn. I also met some other girls some nice some snooty.

As I walk out of the locker I see some guys in football gear coming through the halls. Right away I spot Matthew and a group of his friends. He may be sweaty but I can't help but look at how attractive he is. Right before I stop staring he catches my eye and walks my way.

"Like what you see?" He asked.
"What?" I play stupid.
"Don't worry-" he stops mid sentence to check me out keeping his eyes on my butt for longer than he should. I should have avoided skin tight leggings that make every curve pop. He continues his sentence.
"I do too" he winks.
I can't help but laugh and look into his deep blue eyes.
"Can I see your phone" he asks
"Uhm I guess" I stutter
He goes through my phone to find my contact. He texts himself.
"Now I don't have to wait for you to text me"
I doubt he waited I thought to myself.
"Bye Matthew" I smirk and as I walk off he sticks his foot out to trip me. As I trip he wraps his arm around my waist to catch me.
"I thought you'd see it" he lies.
"Seems like you wanted to pull me back" I wink.
