Spoken
Whispered
Shouted
They can hurt
All the same
Said without thought
Costing another
Sometimes with malicious intent
Mission Accomplished
Words often cause scars
They're not seen
But they're there
'It made me stronger' they say
But did it?
Now you question things
You question a person's motive
You question the honesty of their words
You now have a mask
You've heard the words before
You know how to shield your feelings
But on the inside
You hear those words on repeat -
The first time you heard them,
It left a scar
A scar that's just been reopened
